Chapter 1 – Find a Suitable Tutor.

Step 1 - Consult the detailed information on tutors in MyGGSB. This

will help you to make the right choice - Go to MyGGSB and log in.

Click on « Applied

Learning » and

choose your program

from the drop-down

menu

Step 3 - Click on the tutor list for the campus you are currently

studying at.

Here you will find the following information for each tutor :

- area of expertise,

- previous professional experience,

- contact details.

Tip: You can also convert the information to an EXCEL file and save it or print it

Pick several tutors who correspond to your field of interest; not all tutors on this list are available

(each tutor has a predefined number of students he has agreed to supervise, once this quota is filled

you will no longer be able to choose him, but he will still be visible here.)

Step 4 – To check if your preferred tutors are available you must go

back to the MyGGSB homepage and click on « Applied Learning »

A list of available tutors will appear.

Please note that once a tutor’s quota is filled he will no longer appear on

this list and you will not be able to choose him.

Only available tutors will appear in the list.

The list continues over several pages.

You can sort the list by alphabetical

order, or by field

Step 10 – Contact tutor(s) to come to an agreement for your

Project title

You should contact the tutor(s) – by telephone or email- according to:

- The relevance of his experience,

- His availability (does he appear on the list in e@si from step 9?)

Explain to him briefly your ideas for your Project

He or she will respond according to:

- The relevance of your subject

- The commitments he has already taken on

To avoid any confusion, it is stongly recommended to acquire a written agreement from the tutor at this point.

Once you have reached an agreement, move onto Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Registering your Chosen Tutor and Title in e@si*

Step 11 - Once a suitable tutor has agreed to supervise your Project you

need to register your choice.

Repeat steps 5 to 9 to arrive on this page.

This time click on your tutor’s name to select him.

* Please note that the steps in Chapter 2 will have to be repeated for your Final Project at a later stage

You will see that your tutor’s name now appears.

Go back to the « Student » tab.

Step 12 –

a) Select the domain of your Applied Learning (AL) according to your Project topic,

b) Click on « New AL »

drop-down menu

Step 13 – You will arrive on this page.

The default setting is « School », do not change this. Just validate

Leave as « School »

Step 16 - Fill in all obligatory fields, following the guidelines below. Please keep in mind that this page is also used for internships so the language used may not always seem relevant

Once you have completed this page, click on « Submit Mission ».

This will automatically send an email to your tutor to ask him to validate

your choice. Then save and close.

You will see a confirmation that your mission has been correctly

submitted. Click on OK.

You will notice that your mission has changed to « Mission

Submitted ».

These steps are now complete!

Keep in mind that you will need to follow all the

steps in Chapter 2 twice; first for the Proposal

phase then again for your Final Project phase

(choosing the same tutor both times).

You should repeat the steps in Chapter 2 for the

Final Project phase as soon as you have

received the grade for your Proposal.

The next chapter explains how to upload your

work once you are ready to hand in your actual

Proposal / Final Project.

Chapter 3 – Submitting your Proposal / Final Project*

Step 17 - Follow steps 4 to 6 to take you to this page.

Click on the « Dissertation / Project / Internship Report » tab.

Step 18 – Fill in all fields on this page following the guidelines below.

You need to select 4 Topics and 4 corresponding Keywords which best describe your Project.

All 4 Topics and Keywords need to be filled in to be able to save this page and print your

personalised coverpage.

Step 19 - Your prefilled cover page will appear as a Word document.

Tick either « Confidential » or « Non-confidential », and SAVE the

document;

It must be attached as the front page of your Proposal / Final Project.

Chapter 4 - Accessing your Grade & Comments and Evaluating your Tutor

Your tutor will enter your grade and comments directly in e@si.

Click on the « Evaluations » tab to access your grade and comments.

Evaluate your tutor. This must be done once you have submitted your Final Project, (it does not apply to

the Proposal phase).

Once you have uploaded your Final Project, click on the « Evaluation of the tutor by

the student » tab and fill in the questionnaire.

This is an obligatory step as it is important for GGSB to receive feedback on your

experience.

Your grade and comments will only become visible to you once you have evaluated

your tutor.

This evaluation will not be visible to your tutor at any time.
