A Message from the President
T. Franklin Fiske
Hello Paint & Powder Members,
I hope this letter finds you well. Unbelievably, my term is almost half
over … but now the fun and the work REALLY begin. After the im-
pressive attendance at the Fall Outing, I am looking forward to a nice crowd at the Christ-
mas Party. I appreciate the support the Club is giving me, and I think this will be a success-
ful year.
Soon, we will receive new rosters, raffle tickets, and be asked to begin selling ads, tickets, and
sponsorships to our May Show. Rod has put together a splendid rundown of numbers for us
to perform, and we simply have to fill the parts. Should be exciting!
Doug Chambers, Carolyn Manning, Rod Clark and I have been figuring out the best way to
optimize the Scottish Rite facility. Our goal is good seats, good food, and good performances.
I trust everyone will enjoy their Holiday seasons. Above all, stay healthy and safe.
Have another,
Frank Fiske

The Chris Hergenroeder
Scholarship Fund
A large amount of Chris Hergenroeder's clothing was
taken to the Women's Clothing Exchange sale at
the Parkville American Legion Hall on October 15,
16, 17, 18. Thanks to Betsie Johnson, Francene
Siegel for putting together the clothes to go into the sale and volunteering for
floor duty along with Lila Hopkins we were able to get 75% of the value of the
clothes sold. We received a check for $193.09 from the Women's Clothing
Exchange. The money was sent to Buzz Warren to go into the Scholarship
fund. — John Hergenroeder
Assimilation
T he assimilation ceremo-
ny goes over the history
of the club and identifies
the many interesting
people that have been
members of the club since
1893. The ceremony is capped
off by giving each new member
the Club's pin.
The assimilation ceremony was
conducted by John Hergenroed-
er and Bill Rose at the Fall Out-
ing on October 10h.

Wasilewski, John Hergenroeder, and Rod Clark.
Christmas Caroling
T he usual Christmas caroling we do
at Roland View Towers is not going
to take place this year, after 50(?)
years. Instead we are singing at the
Westminster House on
Dec. 7th at 6:00 p.m.
Garland McPherson is pres.
of the board there & they
are needy seniors. We will
be singing on the 18th floor!
Sounds like fun, so I hope all singers can join
us. The facility is close to the Peabody. — Bernie Cook
W e will also be singing Christ-mas songs Dec. 11, 5-9 at
the Green Turtle at
Hunt Valley. This is a
fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club and the Kamryn Lambert Foundation. Toys will be collected for both charities. Jonathan Ogden and Adam Jones are sponsoring this event. Time we will be singing will be an-nounced later. Hopefully lots of good press. If interested in singing call Rod.
The P&P Playbill is a quarterly publication
for the exclusive readership of Paint &
Powder Club members. Members are
encouraged to contribute material for
publication. Please submit copy to Bill Moss.

Charleston that week during 4th of July celebrations. We

ALMONER’S REPORT Trisha Webster
Marion Drach's sister, Jane passed away on October 8th
after suffering a stroke. Marion and Jane were very close.
Harry and Doris Silverwood’s son, Scott suffered a
grand mal seizure on October 12th while in the car with
his wife near White Marsh. The ambulance took him to Franklin Square
Hospital where he was stabilized and kept overnight. The scans and tests
showed that he had a large meningioma tumor on the brain. After consulting
with a friend who is a doctor at JHH, he elected to have his surgery at
Hopkins. On Wednesday he went into the operating room around noon, and
the surgery was finally finished and he moved into the intensive recovery area
around 7:30 that evening. Although the operation was lengthy, all went well,
and he appears to have no negative after-effects. He was discharged and got
home Friday afternoon.
Rehab will take some time – he hopes to get back to work in about eight
weeks, but won’t be able to drive until January.
Harry and Doris deeply appreciate everyone’s concerns, prayers and support.
Deb Hussey's very dear friend Michael passed away. This has been a
very difficult time for Deb. Drop her a note or give her a call. Deborah L.
Hussey, 174 Dumbarton Rd., Baltimore, MD 21212. 410.494.1920.
