INTRODUCTIONDCCPP is situated in the outskirts of Dholpur which is about

55Km south west of Agra. Dholpur was considered as an ideal location for setting up of a

gas power plant having regards to the availability of land & water.DCCPP is project of Rajasthan Vidhyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd

setup in 2007.Plant capacity is 330 MW (2 Gas Turbine 110MW each and 1

Steam Turbine 110 MW).

INTRODUCTION (CONT…)

The total estimated cost of the plant is 1155 crore.₹ The main equipments were supplied by BHEL. The main fuel used for this plant is R-LNG(Re-Liquefied

Natural Gas) Which is supplied by GAIL Gujarat.

WHY IT’S CALLED DCCPP ?

• DCCPP MEANS THAT “DHOLPUR COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT”.

• It is present in Dholpur. The unique feature of this plant is that waste heat from the gas turbine is recovered by a heat recovery steam generator to power a conventional steam turbine in a combined cycle configuration.

WATER HOUSE

Reservoir water:-Two reservoir tanks are present in this plant . Area of each reservoir tank is 100x100 m2. At a time only one dam is used.

First of all reservoir water convert into de-mineral water which is used for steam generation.

Alum is added into reservoir water to remove clay. And then Cl2 is add into water which water is used in power plant for steam generation.

For convert reservoir water into de-mineral water following motors & pumps are used. These pumps are connected in two series. At a time one series is used.

1) DMF(Dual Media Filter)

2) ACF(Activated Carbon Filter)

3) SAC(Strong Acid Cation)

4) DGWST(Degasifire Water Storage Tank)

5) WBA(Weak Base Anion unit)

5) SBA(Strong Base Anion unit)

6) MB(Mix Bed)Anionic tank is regret by NaOH.Cationic tank is regret by HCl.Mix Bed tank is regret by first HCl & after that regret by NaOH.

COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT??

The heat in the exhaust gases of the gas turbine is used for power generation using steam as working fluid.

Combined cycle recover much of exhaust energy by passing high temperature exhausted gases to recovery boiler to generate steam.

OPEN CYCLE

• In open cycle plant fuel is mixed with air in combustion chamber.

• Heat rejection process occurs in the atmosphere as the turbine exhaust is discharged into atmosphere.

CLOSE CYCLE

• In closed cycle plant fuel is not mixed with the working medium.

• The heat rejection process occurs in heat exchanger or recooler.

ARRANGMENT OF COMBINED CYCLE

COMPONENTS OF GAS TURBINE POWER PLANT

• COMPRESSOR – used in plant generally of rotatory type.

• REGENERATOR – it is a device which recovers heat from the exhaust gases of turbine.

• COMBUSTION CHAMBER – in combustion chamber, heat is added to the air by burning Gas.

• GAS TURBINE – it converts the heat energy into the mechanical energy.

• ALTERNATOR – it converts the mechanical energy of turbine into electrical energy.

• TURBO GENERATOR:CAPACITY-126.2MWP.F.-0.85 LAGGINGFREQUENCY-50 HzCOOLENT-AIR

ADVANTAGES OF COMBINED CYCLE PLANTS

• HIGH EFFICIENCY

• LOW COST

• LOW COOLING WATER REQUIREMENT

• FAST START

• LOW ENVIRONMENT POLLUTION

HOW TO IMPROVE THE EFFICIENCY ??

• Used the combined operation of Gas and Thermal.

• Regeneration.

• Used pre-heater in the cycle

.

• Intercooling

APPLICATION OF GAS TURBINE

• Peak load plant – Quick starting and synchronized, and give good response characteristics.

• Base load plant – where gas turbine fuel is relatively cheap.

• Auxiliary power plant for thermal station.

GAS TURBINE INSTALLATION IN RAJASTHAN

• Anta Gas Turbine Power Plant-413 MW

• Dholpur Gas combined Cycle plant-330 MW

• Ramnagar-113.8MW
