PRACTICAL EXAMS OTHER GROUND SERVICE EQUIPMENT PROCEDURES Other Ground Service Equipment Procedures Objective: Ensure that the Line Service Specialist demonstrates understanding and knowledge of the operation and maintenance of other pertinent ground service equipment. Knowing how to operate the varying ground service equipment at your operation is another crucial aspect of the line service specialist’s job and the successful completion requires 100% accuracy. Each company may vary from the equipment listed on the practical exam; if you do not have the equipment listed, initial the equipment and indicate “not applicable.” If you have other equipment, please follow an applicable task listing under a comparable piece of equipment to complete the practical exam for all company ground service equipment. Each of the listed tasks under the ground service equipment should be observed for safety and accuracy. As the job is being explained / demonstrated, the line service specialist should explain both what and why s/he is doing certain procedures, as applicable. As the examiner, review the tasks before the practical so that appropriate questions may be asked. If any task is not satisfactorily completed, the examiner should indicate a failing grade for that task and provide training on the spot. Future retesting should take place when the examiner feels the applicant is ready.
