Learner roles: Learner play a reactive role responding to stimuli and thus have little control over the content, pace or style of learning .they are not encouraged to initiate interaction, because this may lead to mistakeThe student are imitation of the teachers model. They follow the teachers direction as rapidly as possible. This is seen in the types of activities learners carry out, the degree of control learner have over the content of learning. The students do what the teacher says, the students are passive.

The Teachers roles: Is central and active in the audiolingual method. It is the teacher who always dominate the class. The teacher models the target-language controls the direction and pace of learning, and monitors and corrects the learners performance. She created specific patterns of interaction between teachers and learners in classThe teacher role is like an orchestra leader directing and controlling the language of her student. She is also responsible for providing her students with a good model for imitation.

Materials: the mainstay of classroom material of the grammar translation method is the textbook. In the audiolingual methods are primarily teacher oriented .the teachers book contain the structured sequence of lesson to be followed an the dialogues , drills and other practice activities. The audiolingual here ignores the fact that learning can be facilited if all the channels are open to students.

7 TECHNIQUES: A techniques is a detailed list of rules or a guideline for any activity, it is based on the description of steps.BEHAVIOUR: Comprises collective activities displayed by the learner. Learner behaviour is different at the teaching learning process .The prior knowledge of learner, their interest actitud and abilitiesPRACTICES: It is this inmersion in to the real world of school that prepare the student in making the transition from trainee to professional.
