Practise using InDesign

Firstly, I added gridlines for the columns and rows as a rough guide as to where I want to put the text and photos.

Double page spread

‘Filler’ text, used for temporary use so that you get an idea as to what it would look like

Standfirst

I placed the image into the InDesign page, and then experimented with how the text would flow: around, on top of, etc.

I added a text box for the pull quote, then similarly to the photo, I decided to edit the ‘Text Wrap’, and for the surrounding text to flow around the pull quote

I then did some more experimentation with the flow of the text. I wanted the text to flow along a path, and to do so, I went onto the ‘Paragraph Style’.

I then drew a circle, and inserted text into and around the shape. As well as this, I added drop caps to my main text.

Drop caps through ‘Paragraph Style’.

With this experimentation of InDesign, I have a deeper understanding of how I will construct my contents and double page spread
