While addressing huge gath- ering Manyal highlighted vari- ous welfare and developmental schemes launched by Modi gov- ernment as well as the Coalition Government in the State and asked workers tomake people aware of these schemes so that the common man can take advantage of the same. They apprised the MLA of various problems being faced by them. The MLA said that he is committed for socio-economic empowermentof the people especially those living in hilly, remote and far-flung areas. He emphasised on regular monitoring of the development works besides use of quality material. He said no stone would be left unturned in redressing genuine grievances of the peo- ple. STATE TIMES NEWS SUNDERBANI: 351st Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was cele- brated in Gurdwara Singh Sabha Thandapani, Sunderbani on Sunday with great religious fervour. Besides large number of Sangat, former MLC Ravinder Sharma, General Secretary Harpal Singh and Cashier Tarlochan Singh of DGPC Rajouri, ex-Sarpanch Bhajwal Shamsher Singh and other prominent persons of the Sub District were present. Dhadi Jatha of Bhai Amreek Singh from Pathankot recited the Gurbani Kirtan and the lec- turers narrated the history of sacrifices of Tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh. They said that Babur invaded India and established Mughal regime here which continued for three cen- turies. The invaders started committing atrocities on the native Indians and from time to time these rulers were asked by the Sikh Gurus including Guru Nanak Dev Ji to stop their cruelties. The non-violent and unarmed movement against these rulers continued up to Fifth Guru Arjun Dev Ji. Sixth Guru Hargobind Ji took to arms and fought battles with Mughals and their support- ers while Tenth Guru Gobind Singh was determined to root them out and fought a decisive battle. His General Banda Singh Bahadur after this war established Sikh Raj in Punjab and elsewhere after the death of Aurangzeb, the most cruel king of the country. Though Guru Gobind Singh had to pay a heavy price by sacrific- ing his father, mother, chil- dren and Piyaras yet infused such a bold spirit among the countrymen where a single person had courage to fight against lakhs of emeny sol- diers. MLC Ravinder Sharma said that we are proud to cel- ebrate the Prakash Utsav of such a great Guru and reformer. He urged the peo- ple to follow the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Manyal conducts public Darbar STATE TIMES NEWS AKHNOOR: Two days farm- ers training camp /Kissan Goshthi was organised in Block Pargwal, Zone Jourian, Sub Division. Akhnoor. The programme was chaired by CAO, Jammu, Naresh Dubey. In the camp farmers were given the knowledge of different types of schemes available with department and modern technology regarding mushroom cultiva- tion by Mushroom Specialist Aman Jyoti. Agriculture Deptt distributes sprayer pumps among farmers STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Dedicated volunteers of Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti (MUSS) Udhampur launched a special cleanli- ness drive in District Hospital Complex Udhampur on Sunday in which a large number of volunteers of MSD and MUSS participated. Cleanliness drive started under the supervision of Mahatma Samta Bai ji in charge Maa Rajeshwari Ashram Udhampur. The MLA said that he iscommitted for socio-economicempowermentof the peopleespecially those living in hilly,remote and far-flung areas.

He emphasised on regularmonitoring of the developmentworks besides use of qualitymaterial.
