About Praxis

Praxis Business School was established in Kolkata in 2007 with an initial academic collaboration with XLRI.The Praxis campus is designed on 9 acres of land. Pedagogy

Design: Course-ware content is linked to the micro and macro business environments. Courses in the concentration areas are designed in collaboration with the industry to ensure topicality.

Delivery: The delivery at Praxis encourages students to think; the class is the arena to take the discussion of basic concepts to the next level with the help of case-studies and presentations. There is a substantial industry involvement in delivering courses.

Assessment: Assessment at Praxis simulates real life business situations. Most quizzes, examinations are open-book and challenge the student’s ability to apply concepts. Strong emphasis is placed on participating in projects, making presentations and solving case-study-based problems.

Kollaborative Klassroom We realize that a lot of learning also happens outside the classroom –

at heated discussions in the cafeteria, in the hostel rooms and corridors.

Praxis extends this idea through the creation of a unique Web 2.0 based virtual platform - Kollaborative Klassroom – that enables the creation, storage and open sharing of knowledge between all its stakeholders to a point only limited by imagination.

In addition, Praxis uses KK for the entire range of extra-curricular activities that elevates the traditional Praxis campus out of the ordinary.

The Course aims at equipping the students with the tools, techniques and skills to enable a seamless absorption in the domain of Business Data Analytics: Technology Skills: a good understanding of the software available and a deep enough understanding to extract and analyze data. Statistical Modeling and Analytical Skills: knowledge of the statistical tools and techniques available and the ability to create models.Applying analytics to business situations: an understanding of the business gives a backdrop of why the data is being collected, and this can enhance the quality of the analysis.Communication and Soft Skills: presenting the analysis so as to be “user friendly” is a key deliverable for an Analytics person.

– Spencer’s selects 10 – 15 1st year students for internships and makes them provisional employment offer letter

– Selected candidates go through 6-month stipendiary internship (Rs 15000/- per month) at Spencer’s
