PRAY FOR OUR NATION AND OUR LEADERS
Liberated, Unbound, Released, Emancipated, Unrestricted, Limitless, Uninhibited, and Independence are all synonyms for Freedom. If asked to define the concept of freedom, I’m sure we would have a host of different definitions because it is difficult to define. We each experience it, can recognize it, desire it, and know we don’t want to live without it but to sum it up in words…well that is another topic altogether.
We struggle explaining the concept because freedom isn’t without cost. Someone somewhere gave of himself or herself so that another can be free of tyranny or oppression. The benefactor of the gift now has the opportunity to live differently because of the gift given.
For the Christian, a supreme gift has been given so that anyone who believes can experience life liberated from sin. This gift is eternal. The Apostle Paul said it this way, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life” (Romans 6:23). Like other gifts of freedom, it isn’t free. But thanks be to God for His willingness to sacrifice Himself for our benefit.
As we gather today for worship, let us draw near to God, contemplate His goodness, and give thanks for His graciousness in giving us salvation.

Piano – Mrs. Ann Walton, Organ – Mr. Wayne Martz
*The Hymn of Celebration: “God of the Ages”No. 698
*The Minister: “Let Us Unite in the Historic Confession of the Christian Church”
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
*The Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.
The Call to Prayer
Take this moment to prepare to speak to the One who is more focused upon our hearts than upon our words. One who is more committed to us and our soul’s well being than we are to our body’s comforts and pleasures. One who has shown us by the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ the seriousness with which He makes our appointment. The only One who loves us just because His love is greater than our sin. Free yourself in these moments from your fear-filled secrets by prayerfully confessing them in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
