Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from

harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request. I Chron 4:10


Who is this for

Is this piety for the religious fanatics or all believers?


Why do these things

I John 2:15 -17

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Promise - to see Jesus kingdom established

Intercession involves serving, fighting, ruling, weeping and dying to ourselves. (Eph 6:11)

Who might we pray for? The lost, authorities, nations, laborers, sick and afflicted, family.

Purity of heart - Ps 66:18, 19; Job 16:17

Hypocrisy hinders the very heart and purpose of prayer. Believing - Mt 21:22

Vain repetition in not prayer because it is closing of your mind and not communicating with God.

Clearly praying using rosary beads where the lips are moving but the mind is not employed is condemned by Jesus.

Religious jargon should be avoided when praying. (Just and bless) It makes prayer more into a religious exercise than a natural part of our lives.
