at the church, available during the week between 9am-4pm, and also on Sunday
mornings. All are welcome to the Hour of Prayer led by David Bauman,
each Wednesday, from 10-11:00am in the Prayer Room.
CHURCH FAMILY PRAYER & PRAISES: Thanks for your faithful prayers for the
many individuals battling illnesses. Please contact the church office with current
prayer requests so that we can get those out to our faithful prayer warriors.
Be praying for the many suffering great loss and a very long road to recovery due to the recent earthquakes and hurricanes. Pray for the Church to minister the love of Jesus to those in need. Look for ways that you can give or go. Pray that God’s name would be lifted up. May He receive all the glory.
Pray that we would be Christ’s ambassadors of grace and truth and peace to a hurting and hostile world.
Praise God that Emily Cruz has met her fundraising goal for her six-month missions trip to Newcastle, Australia, with YWAM. Be praying for Emily as she serves the Lord there.
Pray for and encourage our pastors and their families this month.
Pray for those in our church family who are recovering from surgery or dealing with ongoing health issues.
THANK YOU NOTES

“Dear Church, Thank all of you for your prayers and cards, also the beautiful flowers. Tina would have loved them—purple was her favorite color. It meant so much to me for all your prayers. God has truly blessed our church. I am at peace with knowing
Tina has gone to heaven. I know this is going to take a long time for me to let go and the hurt runs deep. I will need a lot of prayer to help get me through this. Thank you,
once again. Love and prayers, Carol, for Carol & Richard Blatt”

“Knowing, Living, Sharing… the Heart of Jesus”
October 2017
Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church
“Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our
Father, who has loved us and given us eternal
comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and
strengthen your hearts in every good work & word.”
- 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
GRACE
Our current sermon series, simply
entitled “Grace,” has us exploring
together the impact of God’s grace
on our lives. Be praying that God’s
Holy Spirit will work powerfully in each
of our hearts in the following ways:
(1.) That we can be released from
anything that keeps us from enjoying
the freedom of Grace.
(2.) That each of us will live in a way
that honors the huge price God paid
to extend Grace.
(3.) That each of us will walk in Grace
in all of our church family
relationships and interactions.
Join us for our next all-church
Family Service Night on Monday, October 23 at
6:30pm here at the church.
This event is for all ages!
We will be helping prepare for
two of our October ‘J-Rock’
outreach events: sorting
donated clothing for our
Clothing Giveaway to be held
on Saturday morning, Oct. 28
and also making goodie bags for
our ‘Light the Night’ outreach on October 31, during
trick-or-treat hours.
Save the date and watch for sign-
ups beginning soon!

LIBRARY CORNER PERSONAL STORIES
Between Heaven & the Real World: My Story by Steven Curtis Chapman with Ken Abraham
Steven Curtis Chapman’s music and message have brought hope and inspiration to millions around the world. Readers can now look into Steven’s childhood in Paducah, KY, his early courtship and first years with his wife Mary Beth, and his success as a Dove and Grammy-award-winning musician. There is background about some of his best-loved songs and also the devastating path of loss after the tragic death of five-year-old daughter Maria. With poignant gut-wrenching honesty, Steven offers no sugary solutions to life’s toughest questions, just the faith to trust God will someday make things right.
My Grandfather’s Son: A Memoir by Clarence Thomas
This is the story of a determined man whose faith, courage, and perseverance inspired him to rise up against all odds and achieve his dreams. Clarence Thomas recounts how being raised by his mother’s father in Savannah, “Daddy” shaped his life. During the years of Jim Crow, he witnessed his grandparents’ steadfastness despite injustices, their hopefulness despite bigotry and their deep love for their country. Attention is focused on his 1991 polarized Supreme Court confirmation hearings. A candid and moving American tale of overcoming hardships with grit.
The Church Library is open on Sundays, between services, and again after second service, and also on Wednesdays, following Truthseekers Ladies’ Bible Studies.

OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE at LANCASTER FREE CHURCH!
Lancaster Free Church is kicking off their new building campaign, Creating Space/Expecting Harvest. They are hosting an All-Church Celebration Dinner on Saturday evening, November 4, on their church campus for all adults in their church family. To accommodate their church families, they would love to provide childcare
and have asked if Lebanon Free Church would provide childcare for the evening!
They would like 4 volunteers per room—adults and youth over 16 yrs old, Kid Safe-approved, with back-
ground checks. The event will start at 6:00pm and end around 8:30pm. (Plan to arrive by 5:40pm.) A meal will be provided for all the children that attend as well as the volunteers. You will also receive an honorarium
for coming and serving in this way. (LEFC is located at 419 Pierson Rd, Lititz. www.lefc.net)

SMALL GROUPS
Small groups are a great way to get to know others, to go deeper into God’s Word, making it an integral part of your daily life, and to grow in your faith journey with the Lord. If you’d like to learn more about how you can get involved in a small group, please contact Pastor David in the church office.

EAGLES (55+) MINISTRY
Do Eagles Sing?
“On October 15 at 4pm in the church lobby we will be sharing in our bi-annual All-Church Hymn Sing. This growing activity features a chance to worship and be encouraged with the Heritage of Hymns of the Faith. The event is punctuated by your requests, fun activities, and special music, followed by a light meal together. Though spon-sored by the Eagles, it is open to EVERYONE in the church. One of the best things about the Hymn Sing is how people of all ages can enjoy our time in fellowship, worship our King of Kings, and pass along a depth of lyrics from one generation to the next. Don’t miss this great opportunity for fellowship, worship, and celebration! Be sure to sign up at the lobby counters so the kitchen com-mittee can be ready with their yummy dinner preparations.
Sunday, October 8 is the deadline to sign up for the Collingsworth Family Concert in Lancaster on November 10. Sign-ups are in the lobby. We have pre-purchased tickets in the Gold Circle (close to the front) but October 8 is the deadline to sign up. The Collingsworths will leave you uplifted and excited about the Lord we serve! See Pastor Gary for more details on both of these events!
Eagles are encouraged to fulfill our mission to Nurture one another in fellowship, Edify one another in the Word of God, Serve the body of Christ and the Community, And Torch-bear to the next generation! See Pastor Gary if you would like more info on the Eagles’ activities or to be put on our e-mail list to be kept up on all that is going on!”
You are encouraged to express your thanks and appreciation to our pastors
with a note or card. - LAEFC Elder Board
