February. Envelopes will be distributed at both NECK & ABBASSIYA Chapel, all parents are requested to support this noble cause. This Year again JVMV will focus on OKR CHARITY PROJECT to the deserving poor and needy people.

• SSFC 2018 Class 10th & 12th Results are expected to be published by OSSAE-OKR on 12th February, 2019. Last date for applying for re-evaluation is 18th February, 2019 with fee of KD 2.500 and Re-evaluation Results will be declared by 24th February, 2019. Last date to apply for SAY (Save A Year) exam for failed candidates is 3rd March, 2019 with fee of KD 2.500 and exam will be held on Friday, 5th April, 2019. The SAY Exam is only for those who have appeared the examination and failed. Say Exam Results will be declared on 30th April, 2019.

• SS Anniversary & Convocation Ceremony will be on Thursday, 21st February @ NECK from 5.00 pm onwards, all are requested to attend the same.

Greetings and Prayers to the Vicar, Associate Vicar, Sabha Manag-ing Committee members, Diocesan Council members, Association members, Diocesan representatives, The Parish Trustee, Secretary, the MC members, Leaders and office bearers of spiritual and charitable organizations and the faithful Members of the St. Gregorios Indian Orthodox Church (Maha Edavaka/ Great Parish) !God has given us abundant mercy and grace to enter the New Year 2019 with new hope. This is the time we have to acknowledge and praise God for all the graces showered upon us by the merciful God with respect to personal, family, official, socio-religious life. We have to also examine our life in various dimensions and the mistakes, deviations are to be rectified in this New Year. It is also the time to re-dedicate our life, our belongings and all our talents before the gracious God who loves and cares more than we love and care ourselves. As New Year Biblical message let us take the gospel of St. John 15:1-10. Here our Lord emphasizes the organic firm relationship between vine tree and its branches. Without living and remaining in the main trunk of the tree no branch can survive and produce fruits and flowers. Here both the tree and the branches are benefited. This sort of relationship is known in ecological terms ‘symbioses‘. The tree receives an identity and ornamentation from the branches which bears fruits and flowers, while the branches receive nourishment, water and firm position on the tree. Likewise, we are the branches of the God. God receives glorification through us while we get all the provisions from the very existence and for bearing spiritual fruits and flowers. Thus without abiding in God nobody in this world can survive and bear fruits. Therefore, the message for the New Year is our Lords commandment ‘abiding in my love’. Dear brethren, let us strive hard this year to abide in the love of Christ. Jesus told that in abiding in the love of Christ, one has to obey and follow the commandments of our Lord. The greatest commandments of Christ are – (1) Luke 10:27, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and (2) “Love your neighbor as yourself”. In short love God and love each other are Gods commandments for us to follow. Christ is always against hypocrisy and pseudo and outward piety. Piety is defined by St. James 1:27 “Piety that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world”. So according to this verse the features of real piety are - (1) Keeping away from impurity of the world, (2) Helping and consoling those who are in distress and (3) controlling the tongue
