Dear Parents December is always a busy time of year. Below are details of some main events for this month. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the whole school community for making this term a great success. We wish everyone a very happy and restful holiday.

International & Languages Week International Week ensures that we underline the importance of our students as global citizens, as

our Guiding Statements dictate. Events included Mother Tongue lessons, dressing up in national costume, flag and poster making and researching different continents and countries around the world. The week ended with some excellent languages performances. In addition to this, Alkent, Etiler and Zekeriyaköy Campuses held delicious International Food Courts, which were organised by the parents. Thank you to them and to all those who were able to contribute.

EYFS Winter Showcases The Early Years Foundation Stage students at the City and Zekeriyaköy Campus have been busy preparing for their Winter Showcases.

Zekeriyaköy Campus Pre School and Reception Winter Showcase will take place on Monday 8th December and will be starting at 10:15hrs.

City Campus Pre School Winter Showcase will take place on Monday 15th December in the Etiler Hall and will be starting at 10:00hrs.

Zekeriyaköy Campus Showcase

There will be a Winter Showcase for parents and children with the Choirs on Tuesday 9th December at 15:40hrs at Zekeriyaköy Campus. The event will take place in the theatre and will last for about one hour.

City Campus Showcases There will be two Winter Showcases at the City Campus. The Alkent Campus student Showcase will take

place on Tuesday 16th December at 09:30hrs. The Etiler Campus Primary student Showcase will take place on Wednesday 17th December at 14:35hrs.

Primary Choirs The Primary Choirs have been invited to perform at the IWI Charity Event on Sunday 7th December from 11:00hrs. The venue is the Hilton Convention Centre.

Winter Bazaars The City and Zekeriyaköy Campuses will be holding their Winter Bazaars on Thursday 11th December. Please look at the flyers

for times. We need as much parental support as possible to make these events a success. Please don’t forget to support our last Wacky Wednesday!!

There will be a variety of stalls, including a special visitor with a big white beard, all dressed in red! The proceeds from the bazaars will go to our chosen charities. Please speak to one of the organisers if you are able to help on a stall.

School Charities We voted on the nominated charities put forward from our community. The results were; the Blind School in Kilyos chosen for our local charity, TKMCV Protection for Children for our national charity and Teenage Cancer Trust for our international charity. Money raised from the Winter Bazaars and summer Fun Day will go to these charities this year.

In addition to these charities, we will also be collecting items for Sariyer Council and Caratas at specified times throughout the year.

The Giving Tree The Giving Tree will run from the 1st December to the 11th December. During these dates, our students are invited to send in a new or second hand toy to give as a gift to less fortunate children, via the Sariyer Council’s family centres. They can bring in their toy and place it under the tree, then add their name and class to a special tree decoration, and hang it on the tree in their campus.

Please ensure all toys are in good condition and brought to school unwrapped.

December Reports On the last day of term you will be receiving your child's report. They

will give you clear statements about your child’s progress and targets.

In addition to the report, which we ask you to read through with your child, there is a reply letter. It is important that parents and children complete the reply slip and return this to school in January.

Coffee Mornings We would like to invite you to join us for coffee. The Senior Leadership Team will be available to discuss any current issues with you regarding the school. The dates are as follows:

Little P ine Cones Playgroup Playgroups are held every week. They are for all children up to 2½ years old, accompanied by a known

School Lunches Our website has an on-line menu with details of each month’s lunches for your child.

End of Term Arrangements End of term parties will take place on Friday 19th December and it will be a non-uniform day. We shall have party food and games.

This term will end on Friday 19th December at 12:00hrs. The Spring Term will begin on Tuesday 6th January 2015.
