Remembrance and Memories
Preakness Healthcare Center continues to honor and remember our nations fallen service men and women, veterans and those currently serving our great nation. On April 19, 2019, a group of Preakness Veterans had the opportunity to remember their fallen brothers at “The Moving Wall” - Vietnam War Memorial which was on display at Garrett Mountain in Paterson, NJ. Thank you to our Passaic County
Veterans for making this experience possible for our community.
May 22, 2019 marked the 18th year that Preakness Healthcare Center staff, Passaic County dignitaries and Sheriff’s Department, local veterans and nearby schools had come together for the Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. We honored two Preakness residents, we served in WWII and Korea, as our Grand Marshals. Thank you to all for your participation and making this event memorable
for our Preakness Healthcare Center residents.

Merry Christmas
In July
Preakness Healthcare Center and The Wayne Rotary celebrated it’s 8th Annual Christmas in July Program on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. The Wayne Rotary provided goody bags for each resident who attended, along with live entertainment by The Pettit’s. Thank you to our very own Santa and Mrs. Claus, Paul and Evelyn Agrusti for a special visit. Many Thanks to our friends at Salomone Bros Inc. for adding to our festivities with their holiday
decorated cement mixer!

The Senses
of Spring
Beauty meets the eye,
Bright flowers of all colors.
Blue skies, puffy clouds.
The buzz of a bee,
Birds screeching their different songs,
Lawn Mowers cut grass.
A campfire burning,
Hot marshmallows on cut sticks,
So sweet to the taste.
Gentle breezes blow,
Pushing objects here and there,
The sun feels so warm!
Freshly cut grass,
Fragrant beautiful rosebuds.
The smell of fresh pine.
The senses of spring,
What a joy to behold!
God’s great creations.

How Does Your
Garden Grow?
With the assistance of Cecilia Diaz from Rutgers Cooperative and Cathy Pariser from the Passaic County Master Gardeners, we were able to make Mr. Herman’s dream of a tomato garden come true. Bob H. and his buddy, Dave B. , “Got their hands dirty” to plant our
Preakness Healthcare Center Tomatoes!
The tomato plants were provided by Rutgers Cooperative. We were excited to learn that we were planting a special tomato breed that
was created especially for The Campbell’s Soup Company!
May we be blessed with a plentiful harvest!
