Following the success of its short-term rental campaigns Renovotec, the UK’s fastest growing rugged hardware, software and services provider for warehousing and distribution, manufacturing and retail companies is launching a long-term rugged hardware rental scheme “designed to provide a lower-cost, lower-risk alternative to capital purchase” says Renovotec.

Over a period of three years or more participants will pay 20% less to rent product from the company’s portfolio of industry-leading rugged hardware, with full support for the life of any contract.

“Long-term rental avoids the need for capital expenditure and can be fully offset against profit for tax purposes. It also gives companies the flexibility to update and upscale their technology whenever business needs dictate – avoiding hardware obsolescence and ensuring optimum performance” says Renovotec managing director Richard Gilliard.

Under the scheme Renovotec retains product ownership during and after the rental period. Terms and conditions apply.

With over 25 years of industry experience, Renovotec supports customers across multiple industry verticals – including Warehousing, Transport & Logistics, Seaports, Healthcare, Retail, Manufacturing and Field Mobility. Being customer driven and manufacture independent, means the company can provide a complete solution from start to finish that addresses the specific needs of your industry and environment no matter how demanding.

Renovotec Launches Long-Term Rugged Hardware Rental Scheme

Based at Netheravon Airfield, just four miles away from Amesbury, the airfield has a long history, originally being used before the First World War for balloon operations. The Royal Flying Corps also used the airfield before becoming the Royal Air Force in 1918. It became RAF Netheravon; a training and operational base, during the Second World War and by the early sixties was taken over by the Army Parachute Association. It is now the worlds’ longest continuously operated airfield as well as the largest parachuting landing area in the UK.

Situated in the heart of the idyllic countryside of

Wiltshire, the site enjoys picturesque views and stunning landscapes, and is also near the World Heritage site of Stonehenge.

The Army Parachute Association (APA) provides parachute training for members of the public over the age of sixteen as well as the military, and has some of the UK’s best military and civilian instructors. There’s fun tandem jumping for friends and engaging training for anyone aiming to get their skydiving licence. The purpose of the APA is to promote and encourage sports parachuting for military personnel whether active, retired or even disabled. Operating as a not-for-profit organisation, Skydive Netheravon is dedicated to reinvesting and improving its services and facilities for its members.

“Parachuting is one of the world’s most exhilarating and inspiring extreme sports,” commented Marketing & Sales Manager, Julie Cooper. “Safely falling from the sky is an experience to remember and can be done solo or together with friends. Skydive Netheravon is committed to inspiring confidence in all.

“Anyone from sixteen onwards can tandem skydive and we operate throughout the year. You

can learn to parachute, whether you have had previous experience or none at all, and everyone gets the same level of dedication and attention to detail. New skydivers can climb the ranks quickly and confidently and soon be jumping from as high as 13,500ft on their own.”

Skydiving Netheravon also offers the perfect opportunity for charities or individual fundraisers to raise money for various causes. Skydivers can make jumps wearing charity t-shirts or even go in fancy dress, which gives a great awareness for the charity, particularly if you are having it filmed!

Every year, Skydive Netheravon holds the Armed Forces Parachute Championship and the Wingsuit Nationals. In 2015, they ran the first ever FAI World Cup of Wingsuit Performance Flying. Almost twenty countries took part which was an unprecedented success.

Worthy of their award, Skydive Netheravon provides the perfect chance to challenge and push oneself. And as the strapline says; ‘The Adventure Starts with One Jump’.

PCB Piezotronics, a leader in vibration, acoustic, pressure, force and torque sensors, offers a range of ICP® high sensitivity seismic accelerometers for use in ground vibration measurements. The accelerometers are designed to enable detection of ultra-low level, low frequency vibrations associated with large civil engineering structures and earth tremors. Such is their sensitivity that the accelerometers can literally detect a dropped pin.

    A typical example is model

393B31 which operates down to 0.07Hz with a sensitivity of 10V/g. This performance makes it ideal for use in a wide variety of civil engineering applications including bridge movement detection, remote pipeline intrusion detection, military establishment intruder detection and rail movement detection – monitoring the effects of train movement on nearby buildings and structures.

Vibration monitoring of ancient buildings is essential to ensure the safety of occupants and protect the structures. Earth tremors, foot traffic, trucks and trains impart vibrations that can cause structures to sway, shift, crumble or collapse so permanent monitoring with high sensitivity accelerometers enables analysis.

In many working environments, from warehouses to manufacturing plants, the cost of moving materials on site represents a significant cost for businesses. Companies may invest hundreds of thousands of pounds in materials handling equipment in the hope of reducing costs and improving efficiency. However, by ignoring what is quite literally under their feet, fleet operators, site managers and equipment operators risk running up unnecessarily high maintenance and repair costs – not to mention putting the health and safety of employees and site visitors at risk.

Poorly cleaned floors can hide risks to people and equipment. Excessive dirt and grime obscure surface damage such as potholes, cracks and ridges which, as well as increasing the risks

of trips and falls for pedestrians, can lead to damage to wheels, chassis and even the drive train. Pallet wrap can also present a dangerous hazard as it can not only get wrapped around wheels and axels of handling equipment, it is one of the most common causes of personal injury.

Whilst it is unrealistic to expect workplaces to remain spotless at all times, the latest developments in cleaning technology have made reducing the risks much easier. The current generation of sweepers, scrubber driers and even combination machines can operate quickly and efficiently for long periods to make continuous cleaning a realistic proposition. For example, the latest range of Hako ride on scrubber driers feature large water tanks for long, uninterrupted periods of operation and powerful batteries for increased run time.

Avancon SA is a contemporary organisation that was set up in 2014. Its headquarters can be found in Switzerland, although it also occupies offices in Seoul, South Korea and Chicago in order to facilitate the ongoing demand for its specialist products.

The business focuses on the automation and logistics markets and is therefore a machine manufacturer in the intra-logistics sector, as Denis Ratz, CEO, told us more: “Avancon stands for “avant-garde conveyor technology”,” he explained. “To provide a new, non-seen, avant-garde conveyor technology to partners worldwide and make them happy is our main objective. So basically we offer a new hardware portfolio for conveyors, actual modules and single components for intralogistics solutions.”

Essentially an intelligent form of LEGO, the company’s beautifully designed conveyor is adapted for real plug-and-play and the modularity of the product makes it incredibly flexible. They are harmonised to the last detail and are perfect for unit handling as functional and modern self-contained systems incorporating innovative

technology and a sophisticated roller-and-belt conveyor design.

Also available is the OTU’s, Omni Directional Transfer Units, which are held in high regard by OEM’s, system integrators and special machine manufacturers.

“We want to enable selected companies to use ZPC,” Denis concluded. “With the gained experience, we will make our conveyors more efficient, intelligent and flexible. Next to it, we will transfer the gained knowledge into new products. So far the end users have been very intrigued and excited about our developments.”

Officially established in 2010, AnyScale is a company based in Essex that focuses specifically on the provision of a unique innovation designed to enable the swift scale, measurement and printing of PDF drawings. Currently sold to contractors, subcontractors, quantity surveyors and architects in 19 countries, the product, ‘QuickScale’, has proven massively successful within the building & construction industry.

The component, which takes accurate measurements and areas off PDF drawings and photographs, has also been valued within the ship building, marine insurance, event planning, CCTV and communications markets for its ease of use and flexibility. The simplistic system was developed to aid those working from home with little PC knowledge,

although its soaring success has led to product integration into large international companies and small enterprises.

“Our software is simpler and cheaper than the competition,” divulged AnyScale spokesperson Leanne Mitchell. “We focus on customer support and take this extremely seriously. Once a customer purchases QuickScale, they will be able to use it indefinitely and we are available for help and support as long as they need (at no extra cost). We believe that the customer should be helped as and when

a situation occurs – they shouldn’t have to log a support call and wait for a response.”

Despite this level of assistance, many users become quickly accustomed to using the product, as Leanne continued: “Clients are amazed at how quickly they understand QuickScale. We’re often told by new free trial users that they think they need to set aside a couple of hours to focus on the software – they are therefore pleased

to discover that they can start their take off almost immediately.”

With QuickScale the operator needs one known measurement to complete the process; typing in the distance and inputting the known figure will enable the technology to scale the PDF as appropriate. Forget sourcing third party printers; simply clicking on points and corners of the areas will formulate all of the necessary dimensions. YouTube links are available to provide instruction – please visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=avycpDckuUs for support scaling drawings and www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8pIvbjyXNU if you need guidance measuring an area, line or path.

    Storth- Leaders in Manufacturing

When it comes to reliable machinery, Storth Machinery is one of the most reputable within the UK. Specialising in slurry handling equipment, Storth

Machinery manufacture a vast and comprehensive range of robust machinery for use in farms and fields.

First established back in 1999 by founding directors Chris Richardson and Alan Looker, Storth Machinery is based on the outskirts of Holme village on the Cumbria-Lancashire border. Today, they export to over thirty countries worldwide and have cemented themselves as a worldwide brand and a premier

    manufacturing company.

At Storth, all research, design, testing and

manufacturing is conducted in house, thus ensuring that all products are tailored to suit the needs of the ever changing and fluctuating market. With a product range consisting of over a hundred different machines and multiple options, Storth has a product fit for every purpose. Their products cover all aspects of the slurry process, from farm yard to field.

One of the most popular items is the vertical fold dribble bar, a product of sheer innovation. The dribble bar is fully galvanised and designed around a robust central frame, which achieves close coupling as well as piggy back facility. Storth’s own NovaCut distributor gives constant flow via a 40mm outlets to 51mm

pipe and finally 63mm Layflat at ground level.

In 2016, they launched their brand new range of Quality British built Mobile Nurse Tanks which aid in the umbilical spreading of slurry and digestate in fields. Mobile nurse tanks have seen a significant rise in demand in recent years. Loaded with slurry, they work by acting as a buffer for the umbilical system and enable uninterrupted spreading to be carried out. It is hugely beneficial if spreading slurry onto cereal crops where careful spreading must be maintained lest the crops be damaged by interruption.

As a company we pride ourselves on ‘working with customers to aid them in

bringing the best possible product to the market’.

Based on the Wirral, where the majority of the Premier Guarantee team reside, the company also operates out of a number of regional offices across the country.

The company is split into a number of areas including Account Managers, Technical Experts, Building Control Experts, a Dedicated Plan Review Team, Customer Service Team, Marketing and a National Network of Surveyors.

Our Surveyor network is made up of

over 100 surveyors ensuring that clients are always supported by local surveyors who know their area and can be on site promptly when required. The surveying team keep in regular contact with the customer service team on site and off site to ensure that a first class service is delivered.

Our Building Control service has been modelled to work in collaboration with our warranty schemes, streamlining the entire process to potentially save both time and money on residential, mixed-use or self-build projects. Sounds simple enough, here’s how it works…

On registering a site with us for our combined service, you are assigned a dedicated Risk Management Surveyor who will be primarily responsible for both your Warranty and Building Control inspections. Our dedicated Design review team can offer support

ensuring schemes meet regulations. Our design reviews team support the Site Surveyors who will work with the Site management team in their aim to bring the scheme to a satisfactory conclusion. This allows all plan checks for warranty inspections and Building Control to be dealt with simultaneously, significantly reducing time and effort.

By combining our services, you can be sure that you will be meeting the requirements of what is expected from compliance with Building Regulations.

From design stages to completion, our Surveyor or project team will support you through the build process using our tested risk management approach that will not only reduce the risk of costly defects but help you comply with Building Regulations.

In addition, you will be able to:• Use our free Initial Notice submission• Adapt the inspection plan to the needs of the site through our tailored regime• Advise on methods of compliance with our plan checking service, under CIC rules we cannot design it for them• Save time by electronically submitting drawings and project information

As registered Approved Inspectors, Premier Guarantee is able to offer expert guidance on ways of achieving compliance with the Building Regulations, both during the design and construction phases.

Using combined Warranty and Building Control provision you benefit from a combined design review covering both areas therefore reducing potential conflicts of interpretation between separate professionals.

On major schemes, we are available to attend Design Team meetings to discuss principles of achieving our requirements, thus facilitating the design process.

    APT Fabrics Does it Again

    Non-Destructive Testing

Located centrally in the Midlands, the privately owned business was set up in 2000 and has since progressed significantly to become one of the most prominent and recognisable suppliers of Non Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment in the UK. From

its strategically located facility in Tamworth the team can ably facilitate the needs of customers across the country and throughout Ireland, and do so with their impressively comprehensive range of products and services.

The equipment available comes in the form of high performance X-Ray systems, computed and digital radiographic equipment, Real Time radiography, microfocus X-Ray systems, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Particle & Dye Penetrant inspection systems, portable X-Ray equipment and X-Ray film processors. As exclusive UK distributors for Bosello, Dürr NDT, Teledyne ICM, X-RayWorx, Magnaflux Tiede MPI and Penetrant equipment & consumables, the company is proud to offer systems from many reputable brands.

Ian Winstanley, Sales Director at Euroteck, was keen to tell us more about the advantages of using NDT technology: “One method of testing parts involves testing it to destruction, while this might prove a part was fit for purpose, it doesn’t leave you with a useable part,” he explained. “We, on the other hand, incorporate methods that look at the materials integral properties without causing any damage to it, hence Non-Destructive Testing.”

Euroteck’s workforce specialises in system integration (bespoke equipment manufacture) for the inspection of ferrous and non-ferrous parts, electrical assemblies, automotive components and composite materials. A large selection of stock is held (for those seeking spares for the purpose of exchanging defective parts and resolving emergency

breakdown issues) at its factory facility in Staffordshire, which also features a customer demo area and dedicated repair workshop.

Contract services and maintenance processes can be provided for most NDT products, and equipment hire and refurbishment is a possibility for those requiring further support, as Ian concluded, “We diagnose problems and stand out in the industry for the level of aftersales care that we provide. We deal with problems quickly because we understand that without testing there is no product release to the end user, which will in turn affect our customers overall operation.”

Euroteck is an ISO accredited organisation that has delivered solutions to customers across the whole spectrum (from aerospace, automotive and defence organisations to

engineering companies, art galleries and museums). To find out how you can personally benefit from employing NDT, please contact the team today.

    Serving Individuals

PS Monograms is a Devon-based business (specifically located in Seaton) that specialises in the provision of embroidery and personal services.

The company was originally set up in Bristol by co-founders Dave, Daphne and a third partner, who had collective hopes of establishing an enterprise recognisable for the customisation of a variety of clothing items for a relatively focused target market.

Aiming to fulfil the demands of schools, clubs and small businesses was the main aim, but continued growth saw the team diversify its reach, extending its offering to the likes of medical professionals, uniformed employees (such as nurses and those working within construction) and club members.

Relocating to Seaton was necessary following the development of the brand, and following their move 12 years ago, it became possible for the group to create their very

own showroom. Suitably equipped to impress potential customers, this space features high tech embroidery machinery along with sophisticated printing equipment and new computers; components that will enable PS Monograms to conduct their work with ease and efficiency.

As well as embroidery, the shop can supply a quality printing service for the enhancement of shirts, t-shirts, jackets, hoodies, aprons and other such garments, and logos can also be developed to ensure brand identity and consistency. Workwear and specialist clothing (such as hi-vis vests & coats and hunting apparel) can also be purchased.

The incredibly dependable and widely appreciated embroidery service provider prides itself on fulfilling client specifications and, as part of this promise, all pieces of artwork are shown to the customer for assessment and approval. After the sample has been given the go ahead, the embroidery can take place, and it is this patience and attention to detail that has enabled the company to continually receive excellent feedback.
