M. Educational Services - Mathematics Curriculum Writing ( C&IAgenda - June 2020)
In support of obtaining these goals, Plainfield Public Schools proposes thedevelopment of a comprehensive High School Mathematics Curriculum usingRubicon Atlas Management System. The use of qualified district personnel willbe utilized to revise High School Mathematics Curriculum to the NJSLS for eachmath course and to include cross-curricular materials, and technologyintegration.

B. Alyssa’s Law Grant Submission
The New Jersey Department of Education (“NJDOE”), in consultation with the New Jersey SchoolsDevelopment Authority (“NJSDA”) for compliance with N.J.S.A. 18A:41-10 et seq. (“Alyssa’s Law”), isissuing these informed public school districts of the upcoming grant program to improve school securityas authorized by the Securing Our Children’s Future Bond Act, P.L. 2018, c.119 (“Bond Act”).
Alyssa’s Law is critical legislation addressing the issue of law enforcement response time when a life-threatening emergency occurs because time equals life. The law calls for the installation of silent panicalarms that are directly linked to law enforcement, so in case of any emergency they will get on thescene as quickly as possible, take down a threat and triage any victims.
RESOLVED, that the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to submit FY2021Alyssa’s Applications for federal funds to support safety and security according to the Alyssa’s LawMandate.

B2. Union County Educational Services Commission (UCESC) for Participation in 2020 –2021 Coordinated Transportation Services
WHEREAS, the Plainfield Board of Education desires to transport special education, non-public andvocational schools’ students to specific destinations, and
WHEREAS, the Union County Educational Services Commission (UCESC) offers coordinatedtransportation services, and
WHEREAS, the UCESC will organize and schedule routes to achieve the maximum cost-effectiveness,now therefore be it
RESOLVED, the Plainfield Board of Education approves the 2020 – 2021 agreement with the UnionCounty Educational Services Commission NJ to participate in coordinated transportation services foran estimated administrative fee of 4% as calculated by the billing formula adopted by the UCESC.
