The broad programme is constructed around 6 main themes:

1. East meets West

Emerging markets, regulatory frameworks, harmonisation, natural medicines

2. Creating the cure – The scientist at the bedside Translational modelling and bioinformatics, biomarkers

3. Technologies for tomorrow’s medicines Materials science, nanomedicine, green technologies, excipients

4. Meeting society’s needs –

Accountability in medicines development biosimilars, clinical trials in the 21st

century, pharrmacoepidemiology/pharmacovigilance, HTA

5. The power of shared information Academic/pharma models, not-for-profit, drug design inc. fragment based, vaccines, molecular libraries

6. Solving the secrets of the cell cell therapies, imaging, predictive tox, new molecular and cellular targets

co-sponsored by many of the world’s leading pharmaceutical science and educational orga- nisations, the international Pharmaceutical federation (fiP) is pleased to bring the 5th PSWc to Melbourne, Australia in 2014.

Not only will the congress uphold its world- renowned reputation for top quality speakers, symposia and posters, but will once again provide a forum for the most extensive inter- national network of pharmaceutical scientists to make an impact on the future of pharmaceu-tical sciences and global healthcare.

The programme will discuss scientific discovery and progress in

the context of such issues as emerging markets, with a focus on

Asian pharmaceutical sciences and the regulatory framework that

supports them and a special stream on pharmacoepidemiology.

PSWc 2014 will also stimulate the development of a new generation

of visionary and ground-breaking pharmaceutical scientists through

special activities for students.
