2)The word is variously derived from the word for

tribute (in modern terms, protection racket) paid by English and Scottish border dwellers to Border Reivers in return for immunity from raids and other harassment. This tribute was paid in goods or labour (reditus nigri, or “X"); the opposite is reditus albi, or "white rent" (denoting payment by silver).

Alternatively, Mckay derives it from two Scottish Gaelic words blathaich pronounced (the th silent) bl-aich (to protect) and mal (tribute, payment). He notes that the practice was common in the Highlands of Scotland as well as the Borders.

3)FITB__ is an athletic conference. The term became

official in sports terminology after formation of the NCAA Division I athletic conference of 1954. The first reference to this is from sportswriter Stanley Woodward who took the term from Caswell Adams. The first time this term appeared was in the Christian Science Monitor on February 7 1935. What?

4)Who are chaotic good and Chaotic evil?

5)From a museum at 1 Safdarjung Road, Near New Delhi Gymkhana Club, Delhi. What do you see here?

7). X has a rare medical condition characterized

by an extreme intuition about all things mechanical and electrical (and utter social ineptitude). He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Although his ideas are typically sensible and occasionally even revolutionary, they are seldom carried out because of his powerlessness. He has a strong immune system and is therefore less likely to get sick than his co-workers. While in most respects weak and unathletic, he is a skilled badminton player.

*8)What did these two cartoons inspire?

9) Identify both of them

10)What word, from the Latin for 'around', is

prefixed to the date of an event, when the exact date itself is not known?

11)On 20 June 2009, "Sun" newspaper revealed that X

would finally show the world his face, in X's TV show the next day. X wished to unmask himself to quash speculation over his identity, stating "He's been fed up with newspapers speculating that he's a photocopier salesman from Bolton, or lives in a pebble-dashed house in Bristol".

The show first depicted X driving a Ferrari round the test track and then after walking off, unmasked himself to reveal he was Y. In the following interview, Y then played up to some of the supposed defining character traits of X. The BBC would initially not confirm or deny it was a just a stunt, but a spokesman was quoted as saying "You have to bear in mind that Z(The show) is an entertainment programme. We never reveal who or what X is,".

12)The X is round and has its name engraved

into its top surface. The edges of the top surface are also engraved with an intricate design. X was created in 1874 to commemorate the marriage of the Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia to the Duke of Edinburgh. X is also a symbol of Spain’s economic recovery after the Spanish Civil War.

*13)Y is a physiological condition which is a

consequence of alterations to circadian rhythms. Such disturbances result from shift work, daylight saving time, chronic congenital disorders, or as the name implies, rapid trans-meridian displacement. The condition is generally believed to be the result of disruption of the "light/dark" cycle that entrains the periodicity in the biochemical, physiological or behavioural processes of living beings. What is Y?

14With respect to ICC World Cup finals, what

do these statistics represent: England: 9 appearances

West Indies: 5 appearancesPakistan: 3India, New Zealand, Australia: 1 each

15)X is derived from wormwood and has historically been used

for medicinal purposes. It originated in Switzerland and achieved great popularity in France. It became so popular in bars, bistros, cafés, and cabarets that, by the 1860s, the hour of 5 p.m. was called l'heure verte or 'the green hour', which referred to its distinctive green color.

It has been portrayed as an addictive drug and by 1915, it was banned in the United States, Switzerland, France and most other places where it was popular. Due to this, consumption of X decreased rapidly during the 20th century. However, in the 1990s, a British exporter realised that there was no UK law prohibiting the sale of X and this slowly led to its revival. Since then, many countries have successfully challenged the ban on X, including Switzerland and France.

What is X?

16)X is a puzzle video game developed by Finland-

based Rovio Mobile. The game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009. Since that time, over 12 million copies  of the game have been purchased from Apple's App Store, which has prompted the company to design versions for other touchscreen-based smartphones, such as those using the Android operating system, among others. Tennis champion prior to India's partition in 1947. One of his sons was a Davis Cupper while a daughter was a seven-time national champion in the same sport. A grandson is also a champion who goes by what name?

20)The X effect is the ability of an activity to which

people devote sufficient time and attention to begin overshadow their thoughts, mental images, and dreams. It is named after the video game X. People who play X for a long time might then find themselves thinking about ways different shapes in the real world can fit together, such as the boxes on a supermarket shelf or the buildings on a street. In this sense, the X effect is a form of habit. They might also see images of X shapes at the edges of their visual fields or when they close their eyes. In this sense, the X effect is a form of hallucination. They might also dream about X shapes when drifting off to sleep. In this sense, the effect is a form of hypnagogic imagery. What effect??

21)Gimme XThere are two theories as to how the place X gets its name

and its meaning

X is an abbreviated word and the full form of the word indicates that it is a place where people go to relax, have a good time and enjoy themselves.

The other theory being that the name of X came from the fact that it sold ice-creams titled X and due to the popularity of the ice-cream the place was christened X.
