Only Qualifying scores will be used.

Sheep and duck runs will both be used to calculate High in Level MAS awards. Only your top score from either stock, in trial 1 and your top score from either stock in trial 2 will count. (Trial one your high score could be on ducks and trial 2 your high score could come from sheep)

The formula for calculating High in Level will be as follows: Started – Raw Score Trial 1 plus Raw Score Trial 2 Intermediate – Raw Score Trial 1 + 5 points; plus, Raw Score Trial 2 + 5 points Advanced – Raw Score Trial 1 +10 point, plus, Raw Score Trial 2 +10 points

HTC MAS – Highest total score, both trials combined, plus bonus points. Your highest scoring run from either type of stock from Trial 1, plus any bonus points, will be added to your highest scoring run from either type of stock in Trial 2, plus bonus points. In the event of a tie, refer to the tie breaker rules below.

High Scoring Junior Combined Trials will be scored as follows: Your highest scoring run from either type of stock from trial 1, plus any bonus points, will be added to your highest scoring run from either type of stock in Trial 2 plus bonus points. In the event of a tie, refer to the tie breaker rules below.

If there is a tie the dog with the most points for the cross-drive wins, followed by the dog with the most points for the outrun, lift, fetch.

Pre-Trial/Herding Tested/Instinct runs are not eligible for Novice Level or Highest Scoring Miniature American Shepherd.

THE CLUB WILL REFUND TOTAL ENTRY FEES LESS $20.00 PER DAY FOR THAT DAY AND THE FOLLOWING TRIAL DAYS FOR HANDLERS WHO THINK THEY MAY HAVE COVID-19. The Trial Secretary is not responsible for emails not received. If you have not received a response to an email after 24 hours. please call the Trial Secretary by telephone. The safety of the dogs is our primary concern. By entering these trials, exhibitors

acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified,

excused, or barred from competition by action of the veterinarian, judge, or Trial Committee.

Entry fees will not be refunded if the trials cannot be opened or completed by reason of riots, civil disturbance, fire, an act of God, public emergency, an act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee.

Entries must be made on Official AKC Entry Forms or copies and must include the signed Agreement and Rules. Junior Handlers must complete the back of the entry form. Please include only AKC titles on your entries.

No entry shall be made, and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees or signatures.

Post Dated and Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. There is a $25 returned check fee.

Bitches in season will be permitted to run but will be placed at the end of the running order in Tests and in catalog order for Trial classes.

It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Trial Committee, be asked to leave the trial site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made.

Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs at show site and all hotel/motel, and campgrounds where they are staying while competing in these trials.

Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. The judge need not wait for any dog holding up a class. MASCUSA has no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or steward for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought to the ring when required.

Notice to Exhibitors (con’t) All dogs must be on lead or crated at all times except when in the arena. Dogs must wear a simple well-fitting buckle, snap lock, or slip collar (no tags)

or may work without a collar at Trial levels. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may have made

such errors. No entry will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing date. Errors in entries made by the exhibitor cannot be corrected after the closing date other than move ups. No refunds for duplicate entries.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccination.

Miniature American Shepherd Club of USA, their Board, Members, and Nestle Purina Farms and its employees will not be liable for any loss or injury which may be sustained through disappearance, loss, theft, communicable disease parasites injury and/or death of dogs entered in this event.

MASCUSA does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event. Site available to exhibitors from 6:30 am to 6:00pm or conclusion of events each day

DIRECTIONS TO Purina Farms From North/East/South: Take I-44 to Gray Summit/Hwy 100 Exit 253. Turn east on Hwy 100. After approximately 1/2 mile, turn left on MM. Entrance to Purina Farms is approximately 1 mile on left. There are small signs directing you to Purina Farms.

From West: Take I-70 to Hwy 47, Exit 193. Take Hwy 47 south to Hwy 100. Continue on 100 to I-44 east. Take I-44 east one exit to Gray Summit. Follow directions above.

AGREEMENT I, (we) acknowledge that the “rules Applying to Registration and Dog Shows” and the “rules for Herding Tests & Trials” have been made available to me (us) and that I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. I (we) will pay for any injuries or the replacement value in this event of serious injury to the livestock caused by my (our) dog. I (we) agree that the determination of whether the injury is serious shall be made by the event veterinarian and is binding on me (us). Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons. Junior Membership Application

Open to children under 18 years of age and must be sponsored by at least one member in good standing. Junior memberships are non-voting/non-office holding memberships. Junior membership may automatically convert to regular at the age of 18. Junior memberships require an adult member to sponsor and a parent or guardian’s signature. Adult sponsors may apply for membership at the same time as the Junior Member using the application on the previous page. The adult sponsor must pay for their membership. Junior memberships are free and do not have voting privileges, but they may participate in membership surveys. Junior members may participate in the Championship and Merit programs and will receive discounts on special events hosted by MASCUSA.
