VisitErie has formed the Erie County Tourism Recovery Task Force, gathering partners from six primary sectors to suggest protocols that ensure the safety of Erie's residents and potential guests, as we seek to recover from the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak. All sectors will continue to enforce social distancing guidelines, and take steps to ensure employee safety in addition to other industry-specific protocols. The following is a snapshot of these objectives. Accommodations Restaurants Small Attractions/Retail Large Attractions Facilities Transportation Find the complete report at VisitErie.com Increased cleaning in public spaces Reduction of stay-over service Use of franchise-approved hospital grade disinfectant Floor markers indicating 6 ft. distancing for front desks and elevators Establishing more distance between exhibits Limit group activities based on state recommendations Increased sanitization at touch points Signage and barriers will be added to enforce social distancing practices Closure of exhibits and areas where social distancing can't be controlled Reducing overall capacity of guests Increased sanitization at touch points Additional signage noting new protocols Reduce seating capacity to allow 6 ft. distance Food prep stations sanitized once per hour Touch points sanitized after each use Menus and place mats to be single use Condiments to be served for single use Seating capacities and floor plans reviewed at each event to reduce congestion Increased emphasis on mobile ticketing Increased hand sanitizer stations Groups/patrons seated 6 ft. apart Nightly deep clean of public restrooms Provide additional hand sanitizer stations Deep cleaning and detailing the insides of all areas inside the bus/plane All employees wear masks
