This manual describes the steps that are necessary to prepare Adobe Reader for viewing PDF documents signed with elektroninis.lt e-signatures. If you do not have the PDF document viewer Adobe Reader installed on your computer yet, you can download it from the website http://get.adobe.com/reader . The manual provides examples for version XI of Adobe Reader.
First of all, download the root certificate designated for Adobe Reader from the
website http://www.elektroninis.lt/en/prepare-pc/nid-1004 to your
computer. Extract the downloaded file.
Install the root certificate by double clicking on the file RCSCrootCA.fdf (Figure
1) extracted in the previous step.

In the opened Data Exchange File – Import Contact window, click the button Set Contact Trust... (Figure 2).

The Import Contact Settings window will appear, where you have to check the box next to Use this certificate as a trusted root and click OK (Figure 3).

The Import Complete window will appear indicating that the root certificate has been imported successfully. Click the button OK (Figure 4).

Complete the installation of the root certificate by clicking the button Close (Figure 5).

The installation of the root certificate in Adobe Reader is now complete.

Open Adobe Reader. From the menu, select Edit --> Preferences... (Figure 6).

The Preferences window will open, where you need to select Signatures --> Verification --
> More... (Figure 7).

The Signature Verification Preferences window will appear, where you have to select only those parameters that are shown in Figure 8 and confirm your selections by clicking the button OK.

Close the Preferences window and click the button OK. (Figure 9)

Adobe Reader is now ready to be used for viewing PDF documents
signed with the elektroninis.lt signature.
