Sacred Heart students and staff LOVE our Royalswhat a gift to experience a team that played with tenacity, determination and so much faith! It was a gift to see our community unite and celebrate as the Royals took the crown. What a memory for our students as they will never forget where they were and what they were doing in the fall of 2015! Every year we continue to celebrate the gift of Catholic Education at Sacred Heart. Fr. Pat and I have discussed the importance of giving children the opportunity to be educated in a Catholic school and have worked to put together a marketing packet that highlights the excellent education offered at Sacred Heart. Do you know a family who might have an interest in having their children attend Sacred Heart? Maybe they are hesitating because of tuition, uniform, any number of reasons. We have found that once families tour our school, they are sold! We need your help! Talk to your neighbors and friends about Sacred Heart. If you encourage them to tour Sacred Heart, we will give you a spirit shirt. If they enroll, we will give you $50 off your tuition for next year. Help us and we will help you…It’s a win-win! Seems like that has been the theme of this month! In This Issue

Academic Excellence & Achievement

Highlights of November

Kindergarten: During the month of November, the Kindergarten students focus on Thanksgiving. They learn about the story of the Pilgrims and Native American Indians. The students compare/ contrast their homes and clothes, and they look at the reasons that the Pilgrims left England. They also focus on being thankful for their lives and all the gifts God has provided. The students make small books, turkey items, cornucopias, head pieces (Native American hats and Pilgrim hats). At the end of the study, they have a Thanksgiving Feast. As a grade, the students dress in hats of either Pilgrims or Native American Indians and sit together to share a meal. It is all provided by the parents and served together over in the Church meeting rooms where Fr. Pat will lead them with a blessing.

1st Grade: First grade is starting their unit called ”I am Responsible.” The students will be learning about ways that they can show responsibility to themselves, their families, their friends, their school, their Church, and the environment. The students are also talking about Thanksgiving and being appreciative for the many blessings they have in their lives.

2nd Grade: The second graders have been actively preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation which they will receive on November 18. The students are looking forward to celebrating this sacrament in gratitude for and acceptance of God’s gifts of mercy and new life.

Sacred Heart School Rosary:Our school is built on a rich foundation of prayer and love for this community. As children of God, we call on Him with our joys and sorrow through the intercession of The Most Holy Mother of Jesus, Mary. Please join your Sacred Heart community by volunteering to pray a daily rosary for a blessed 2015-2016 school year and for our incredible members of the staff, teachers and our spiritual leaders, Father Pat and Father Dan. It is easy to participate, just use the link below to get started. Please contact DeAnn Sajdak, rosary coordinator, with any questions you might have. Her contact information is [email protected]. https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/10c0d44aaad22ab9-sacred

Rectory MealsThis year we have the opportunity to welcome Father Pat and Father Dan to Sacred Heart of Jesus by offering them a Rectory meal twice a month, provided by our Parish families as part of our Pillar of Stewardship.

We are asking families to donate gift cards to local restaurants. Please feel free to send in a gift card from your favorite restaurant or use the local suggestions from the office. For more information regarding meals, please visit our sign-up genius: http://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/20f084faaa72fa02-rectory/372490

Favorite Work of Mercy: “To bear wrongs patiently”

It is so important to remember that we all have differ-ences. Sometimes it is so easy to point the finger at other people’s flaws, but we need to remember that we all have them. We should focus on bettering ourselves every day and treat others like we would treat Jesus.

Favorite Quote: “Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.”What You Might Not Know: I started dancing when I was three and continued throughout most of my life. Tap was and still is my all-time favorite and I can still bust out a few of my old moves.

K-5 Christmas Program BulletinDear Families of Sacred Heart,

It is so hard to believe Halloween has already come and gone! In the music classroom, this means we have begun to practice and prepare for our Christmas Program that will take place the evening of Thursday, December 10th. Kindergarten through second grades’ performance will begin at 6pm. Third, fourth and fifth grades’ performance will begin at 7pm.

The theme for this year’s Christmas program is “A Caroling We Go!” The wardrobe for the program for all grades is nice Christmas clothes. Slacks, button down shirts, polos, sweaters, dresses and/or skirts with nice shoes etc. will fit the bill(no jeans or t-shirts please!)

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to perform all of their hard work, and will be a night full of fun Christ-mas spirit! Attendance is highly encouraged, so please mark your calendars for Thursday, December 10, 6pm and 7pm. If you are already aware of a conflict and know you will not be able to make it, or if a conflict arises, please email [email protected]. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you all here at Sacred Heart for “A Caroling We Go!”

Sincerely,

Molly Vogt, music teacher
