PT Wijaya Karya Beton (WIKA BETON), as one of subsidiaries of PT Wijaya Karya (Persero),Tbk (WIKA), is part of corporate expansion that specializes in precast concrete industry. WIKA started to concentrate on the pre-cast concrete industry in 1977 by developing pre-cast concrete panel for low-rise housing projects. Ever since, WIKA is determined to keep developing their products in order to anticipate the development plan and emerging infrastructure projects.

The product development has created these outcomes : pre-stressed concrete poles for power distribution lines and PC piles, then followed by other products, for instance, concrete open channels, concrete railways sleepers, bridges girders, sheet piles, pipes, platform slabs and building components which have been implemented in various range of projects. Those products emerged in the right timing and succeeded to become leading products in the market.

Apart from product developing endeavors, WIKA also continuously develops the production facilities by adding factories in some locations. PT Wika Bitumen, Mining , Buton Natural Asphalt (Asbuton) mining has started since the Dutch Colonial era, precisely on October 21, 1924 whenever Asbuton mining concessions for 30 years was granted to a Dutch businessman named A.Volker. Since then, the Asbuton mining has continously managed under different company/entity as the managing party (refer to the history of PT WIKA Bitumen) Currently, the mining business of Asbuton still becoming the backbone of the company revenue with total export of Buton Natural Asphalt raw material of approximately 500,000 ton per year. The natural Asphalt export activities both from IUP (Mining Concession) Lawele and Kabungka, has dominated more than 90% of the company’s revenue and has contributed significantly to the performance of the company. Starting from 2014, PT WIKA Bitumen has deternimed to develop the industrial sector of natural Bitumen Mining by developing and constructing the Granular Asphalt Plant in Kabungka with initial capacity of 20.000 ton per year. This program was in line with the goverment policy to increade the minerals value added produced from the mining operations. The transformation towards proessing industry is believed will lead to a continous and sustainable growth of the Company Business. Wika bitumen, CSR Activities, CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

In accordance with Law No. 40 Year 2007 Chapter V Clause 74 article (1), a limited liability company (Perseroan) which conducted businesses are in relation with natural resources has to manage the Environment and Social Responsibility. During 2014, as the company is running business in mining sector and a subsidiary of a state-owned company, it based the Environment and Social Responsibility to the State-Owned Enterprises Ministerial decree No. Per – 05/MBU/2007 regarding the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry Partnership Program with Small Scales Businesses and Environment Building Program. Throughout 2013, PT WIKA Bitumen had conducted the CSR program in education field, environment development , partnership and manpower. As an effort to fulfill the corporate social responsibility based on the existing regulation, PT WIKA Bitumen has conducted several activities as follows: Education Sector Provision of education at Kindergarten level, which was held through cooperation with PUTRA Foundation. This activity, began in 1967, had been managed not only to foster the company’s children but also the children of Pasarwajo residents nearby PT WIKA Bitumen office and in Banabungi. In 2014, the number of students has reached to 54 people. Assisting Internship programs of several students of different universities in North Sulawesi. Health and Environment Development Program Road repair in Banabungi village, Pasarwajo Training for community health center to improve people’s health especially toddlers every month. Partnership Program, Cooperating with local business partner in business activity implementation such as material hauling from mining site to stockpile and equipment rent Supporting the existence of Labor Union (SP) by providing facility for organizational activity. Empowerment of local human resources at least 96% of the company’s manpower is local residents. Increase productivity of Purnabakti through Bosletong Training WIKA CSR in collaboration with Paguyuban Purnabakti of WIKA held Bosletong System Training in Bekasi, on June 3, 2014. The training was opened by the Chairman of Paguyuban Purnabakti WIKA, Suryo Sitepu, and attended by 57 participants from Paguyuban Purnabakti of WIKA and representatives of the CSR Bureau. Bosletong system itself is an integrated cropping pattern between fisheries and agriculture are carried out simultaneously in a medium that is gentong. Bosletong system was created with the goal of maintaining a beautiful
