Executive Summary

The Spectrum Story

Moving AVT overseas from the US to the Gulf Region was a tactical

move due to the thirst for integrated technologies in emerging markets.

Recognizing the need for a professional service provider in the region,

we were motivated in 2008 to make the leap into our first project in

Dubai with the automation of a high-end villa in Jumeirah, thereby

enabling us to study the market and region while on the ground.

Inspired and encouraged by the first success story, Spectrum Lighting

Technology partnered with one of the leading lighting suppliers in the

region in order to facilitate further structural expansion.

This enticed the founder, Shawkat Jaghoub, to fulfil the needs of both

the commercial and residential segments in the market thereby paving

the way for the establishment of Spectrum Lighting Technology.

We are a professional Engineering company that has the capability to design and commission the most intricate lighting systems for the most demanding clients. Established in 2016, Spectrum Lighting Technology provides solutions that cater to the specific needs of owners and users alike. The cornerstone of our success is the energy of the Spectrum team that power our best-in-class Spectrum CREATIVE® Lab.

Our Process

The cumulative knowledge we have acquired in the construction

industry has motivated us to develop our own process which starts

with our very own Spectrum CREATIVE® Lab.

Our Methodology

• Design Development: Getting the concept right is perhaps the

most critical part of any project. At Spectrum CREATIVE® we

engage and collaborate with clients and designers from the very

early stages to help develop proper solutions with the belief that

the simplest solution is the optimal solution. Less is more. From

conceptual presentations including preliminary sketches, typical

layouts and budgets, to models and product mock-ups, we are

committed to providing a complete visualization that enables our

clients and their advisors to have a better grasp of the physical

implementation.

• Construction Documentation: From the preliminary review of

Construction Documents, to the issue of a comprehensive set of

plans and specifications, our Creative Lab will lay out a scheme

that will outline the intended outcomes of the project. This

engineering documentation includes; schematic drawings and

diagrams, system narrative, product specifications, method

statements, material submittals, risk assessments and safety

procedures in addition to as-built drawings when necessary.

Official Spectrum documents comply with international and local

municipal standards for engineering, safety, and act in accordance

to client specifications.

• Risk Assessment and Safety Procedure:

We believe that our people are our most valuable asset. While

abiding to international and local municipal codes and

regulations, Spectrum seeks to set our own standard for both the

ELV industry and the construction industry as a whole, by giving our

team perpetual education in Health and Safety best practices.

Beyond risks related to Health and Safety, Spectrum works closely

with the client to identify and mitigate other risks on their

investment. (e.g. issues related to light pollution or maintenance

accessibility)

Project Management: With an understanding that the key to

delivering a project on time and within budget is proper

coordination with the general contractors, consultants,

construction managers and subcontractors, we are proud of our

experienced and motivated project management team in order to

fulfil our obligations.

Installation: By following the installation manuals provided by the

source manufacturer of the equipment we provide, and by using

the proper tools and accessories, we will ensure that the

installation is done in a clean, neat, and professional manner that,

we as a company, can be proud to associate our reputation with.

Programming/Testing/Commissioning: Creative intent is only

achieved by a system that works and is programmed properly and

our turn key services do not stop at installation, but are only

complete when the system looks, works and is integrated exactly

as intended.

After Sales Service: Spectrum will provide a customized

operations & maintenance manual for each installation upon

handover. It will include best practices for preventive

maintenance. Additionally, we have invested in an impressive

storage of numerous models of various ELV and lighting

equipment as well as their corresponding accessories should

corrective maintenance be required. Yes we do have our own 24-

hour hotline and will be more than happy to help and remediate

any owner or user concerns.

Media Facades and Pixel Mapping

Building facades are one of the largest, most important elements in

the overall aesthetic and architectural performance of a building.

Media Facades are custom designed for each installation and

blend into the architectural facade of the building. Typically

invisible during the day and attention grabbing by night.

Video mapping or Pixel mapping is a special service used for

Media Facades, especially of irregular shapes.

All the LED displays at Spectrum installations can be controlled by

one platform. We make it very convenient to manipulate the

displays to achieve the desired effect or messaging.

Multimedia Fountain Shows add a layer of excitement to the splash of

water fountain nozzles. The fountains with their pressure and

movement are carefully and creatively choreographed to music

Public Address (PA) system

PA systems provide large and multi-facility structures and complexes

with audible features such as playing music as well as providing a

means to address people. Spectrum offers both wire & wireless

solutions. In many cases, the system is integrated into the buildings’

safety protocols such as Automatic Voice Evacuation messaging in

case of emergency. Our team has the experience and expertise to avail

appropriate Public Address systems for every application and business

environment. We supply, install, commission & maintain speakers,

volume controls, network controllers, wireless trans –receivers and

booster amplifiers.

• CCTV SYSTEMS

Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), or video surveillance, is

another segment that Spectrum specializes in. We have

experience with various building applications including homes,

banks, schools, hotels, airports, hospitals, restaurants, military

installations, convenience stores and other areas where a

heightened level of security is required.

• Video-Audio Intercom

An intercommunication device, or intercom, is a stand-alone talk

back or door phone voice communications system for use within a

building or collection of buildings, functioning independently of the

public telephone network. Intercoms are generally mounted

permanently in buildings and vehicles. Spectrum intercoms can

incorporate connections to public address loudspeaker system,

walkie talkies, telephones, and to other intercom systems. Some

intercom systems that incorporate control of devices such as

signal lights and door latches can be conveniently provided as

well.

• Structured Cabling Solutions

Spectrum’s structured cabling system is a complete system of

cabling and associated hardware, which provides a

comprehensive telecommunications infrastructure. This

infrastructure serves a wide range of uses, thus providing

telephone connectivity and data transmission through a computer

network. Our solutions are structured in such a way to be

completely device independent.

We further define a structured cabling system in terms of

ownership. The structured cabling system begins at the point

where the service provider (SP) terminates. This point is the point of

demarcation (demarc) or Network Interface Device (NID).

For example, in a telephone system installation, the SP furnishes

one or more service lines (per customer requirements). The SP

connects the service lines at the point of demarcation.

IPTV & SMATV System

Spectrum provides the finest IPTV systems through which TV

channels are distributed using an TCP/IP protocol over a packet-

switched network such as a LAN or Internet, instead of being

delivered through traditional terrestrial, satellite signal. With us

you can find an integrated IPTV solution including IP streamers, IP

Encoders, VOD servers, Middleware and other corresponding IPTV

accessories.

With Satellite Master Antenna Television (SMATV), Spectrum

tailors a system that uses multiple satellite and broadcast signals

to create a single integrated cable signal for distribution to a

cabling network. The advantage of the SMATV is that all homes in

the community can share the installed satellite antenna

eliminating the need for a separate antenna for each user. It allows

clients to customize programming according to audience needs

and desires.

Telephone System (IP PABX)

With a PBX system, Spectrum connects telephone extensions to

the Public Switched Telephone Network or telephone line

providers and facilitates internal communication for business.

The IP PBX works with network connectivity and provides

communication by utilizing the TCP/IP network protocol

stack. With a business phone system, a PBX acts as the

central switching system for phone calls within a business. PBX

systems are able optimize resources thus providing shared access

to all users.

When it comes to a IP PBX system, there are several advantages

businesses can benefit from. IVR, voicemail, call recording,

voicemail to email, mobility users, call queue, conference call

bridge, telephone CRM integration and remote office

connectivity to name some.
