HR which is evolving in Our Company is been traditionally involvedin the functions of recruitment, selection, induction, training anddevelopment, grievance handling, employee counseling, industrialrelations in the organization is perceived to be Institutional byapproach with complete transparency. If one views it from theglobal perspective, the HR functions has undergone perceptiblechange and if these changes are not taken cognizance of thedepartment simply ceases to exist. Technology cannot substitutehuman interactions. However business decisions highly numbersoriented and IT must give its value addition to enhance HRtransactions on daily activities such as Employee Contract renewals,VISA Processes. Currently HR Management software which weinvested monies in, is catering to document Employee Transfers, and HR MIS, seamlessly. Other key benefits to the Unit heads are:HR MIS pertaining to his team.

With a bigger salary structure, perks, compensation benefits, givento deserving employees since 2010 beginning, I expect / what Iwant the HR leaders to redefine every employee his roles and theircontribution to DS Construction. I want HR professionals withenthusiasm for the business, a strong presence among their peers, professional compatibility with top executives, and down to earthsavvy. In other words, I expect the department of HR to be a servicecentre apart from taking adequate care of people who are skilled, educated, talented & knowledgeable.

However, some employees still believe that HR is the place to getfree therapy, happiness, more welfare schemes. I as an owner’s

perspective, on the other hand, expect HR professionals to buildorganizations systems, processes, methods to the companyextremely competitive. For example HR dash board mentioned inthe enclosed pages, indicates key HR services handled as well as onissues such as creating tangible employee satisfaction andretention.

Now that the pending Salary disbursements have been through, allemployees must focus on their daily productivity. There are manychallenges on business front main issue is receivables from ourprime clients.

I wish all employees happy duseerah which brings DS familymembers to enjoy festival. Happy Prerna September 2010 reading

I was reading an article published in a newspaper WHAT IS HR.The meaning I got from the article if I sum up its like: “real” HRprofessional has to have a combination of profiles:-

  The brains of Einstein.

  The Charisma of Kennedy.

  The negotiating skills of Kissinger.

  The marketing skills of Iacocca.

  The soul of Mother Teresa.

  The stamina of Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

The HR in the new millennium has gone in for a big change andthe HR professionals who are people managers need to adapt tochange quickly, correctly before they could consider changing thmind set of their employees.

Often HR pros are perceived as only able to deal with the softerside of business because they are diplomatic, typically positive ioutlook and gracious.

Outcomes that VERTICAL head expect are a well-executed HRstrategy, an efficient HR service, an increase in employee

commitment and capability, and organizational renewal. Tosuccessfully deliver on these goods, HR works 24/7 to interactwith employees and always HR radar’s analysis is conveyed toBusiness Owner’s

In the Prerna September 2010, we have innovative articles andnews on DS family member’s issues and concerns

Lastly, HR is on tremendous pressure due to budget constraints,to send employees on FINAL and LEAVE. Prime reason, as we allknow that our key customers are very slow in giving us the moniefor the construction work executed over the last 6 months. HappPrerna September 2010 reading

Occupation Co-founder, CEO & President of Facebook

Net worth▲ US$6.9 billion (2010)

Zuckerberg launched Facebook from his Harvard dormitory roomon February 4, 2004. The idea for Facebook came from his daysat Phillips Exeter Academy, which, like most colleges and prepschools, had a long-standing tradition of publishing an annualstudent directory with headshot photos of students, faculty andstaff known as the "Facebook". Once at college, Zuckerberg'sFacebook started off as just a "Harvard thing" until Zuckerbergdecided to spread Facebook to other schools, enlisting the helpof roommate Dustin Moskovitz. They first spread it to Stanford,Dartmouth, Columbia, New York University, Cornell, Brown andYale, and then to other schools with social contacts with Harvard.

Zuckerberg moved to Palo Alto, California, with Moskovitz andsome friends. They leased a small house that served as an office.Over the summer, Zuckerberg met Peter Thiel who invested inthe company. They got their first office during the summer of2004. According to Zuckerberg, the group planned to return toHarvard in the fall but eventually decided to remain in California.

These social web ways of networking together are all blasting the WEB

Social networking websites have been around since the mid-90's, but in recent years, socialnetworking has exploded across the web. The Web 2.0 initiative has made modern socialnetworking sites increasingly popular and easier to use than the initial wave of sites thatlaunched in the 90's.

Last year, Face book surged past MySpace to become the most popular social network.Flixster also gained ground, overtaking Classmates, and LinkedIn rose in popularity as morepeople focused on their jobs. And while Twitter is as much of a social messaging platform asa social network, it has definitely led an invasion into the top social networks over the pasttwo years.

The top social networking websites is divided into three categories: General purpose, special interest social networks with a specific theme, and international sites.

Facebook: Founded by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook was designed as a socialnetworking site for Harvard students. After spreading from Harvard through theuniversity ranks and down into high school, Facebook was opened to the public in2006.

MySpace: Started in 2003, MySpace was a driving force in popularizing socialnetworking and still maintains a large user base. A highly customizable socialnetwork, MySpace continues to reposition itself in the industry. Create a FlashyMySpace Profile

Twitter: What started out as a micro blogging website has quickly grown into asocial messaging platform and one of the top social networks in the world. Twitteris phenomenon that transcends social networking to provide an outlet for news, trends, buzz, and chat among many other uses.

Ning: A social network for creating social networks, Ning takes the idea of groupsto a whole new level. The ability to create your own community makes Ning agreat home away from home for organizations and groups looking to fill the socialvoid. How to Create a Social Network on Ning

How the practice of Yoga helps to improve the productivity of the workforce?

Any job can be done in two ways:

First – “ It is my duty, so, I have to do it”.

Second – “ It is my job, I love it and I want to do it.”

The “have to” attitude burdens you every minute of the hour, and every hour of the day leading to stress. The “want to”attitude leaves you mentally refreshed, more productive and charged up after a long day of debugging the programs.

So how can you bring about a transformation from the first to the second way?

The secret lies in the attitude while a work is done. This attitude develops automatically once you have a healthy bodymind and vibrant spirit.

The answer seems convincing enough, but sadly it is locked up in box to which we don’t seem to have the key.

In your present situation, it is unlikely that you may know where the key is i.e. How to achieve that state mind. Askyourself, do you know how to relax?

If you do, but find it too time consuming to follow it, then you should also know that, actually it is not so.

One hour of Yogic practice in a day will give you 23 hours of confidence, of Health and Well being.

10 minutes of relaxation practice will yield in seven hours the work of nine hours.

So don’t feel guilty in spending that one sacred hour of the day to yourself. You are doing a favor to yourself and in thebargain making the best insurance for your future.

It is the Yogic techniques which are the key to the box, the Yoga you shall practice here will encompass both yourprofessional and personal life.

The Yoga sessions shall consist of following

Yogasansa (Yoga postures)  Pranayama (Breathing techniques)  Relaxation techniques  Meditation

YogasansaAsanas help in gently stretching and exploring all parts of the body and can be adopted by persons of all size, weight, state and age. They provide Physical Fitness while increasing awareness they strengthen the Spine - a basic necessity fortotal Physical Health, and ease tension in the neck and shoulder reason.

PranayamaPranayama brings new levels of awareness by stopping or restraining distractions of the mind. These practices reducethoughts, conflicts etc. in the mind and thus increase the concentration, memory along with wonderful physiologicaladvantages. Pranayama helps therapeutically in managing asthma , hypertension, digestive disorders sinusitis etc.

Relaxation TechniquesBy Relaxation one can release tension both in mind and body for a period of time to allow complete rest andrevitalization. It helps in a number of ailments , stress and tiredness. These techniques are an effective method tobreak habits like smoothing, poor eating regimen etc

MeditationThis is the practice involving control of the mental functions which start from the initial withdrawal of the senses fromexternal objects. The basic principle of meditation is to develop internal awareness. Thus these practices will increase the productivity of the employees and Promote positive physical and mental health.

 .

It was Rob Janoff, the Art Director of Regis McKenna Advertising who in early 1977 were hired by Steve Jobs to define a new logoand logotype.

According to Rob's own words...the real reason behind the bite is thus...

"I designed it with a bite for scale, so people get that it was an apple not a cherry. Also it was kind of iconic about taking a biteout of an apple. Something that everyone can experience. It goes across cultures. If anybody ever had an apple he probablybitten into it and that's what you get.

It was after I designed it, that my creative director told me: "Well you know, there is a computer term called byte".

And I was like: "You're kidding!" So, it was like perfect, but it was coincidental that it was also a computer term."

It's true that Apple differentiates itself from other PC manufacturers by producing premium products at premium prices, butthere are downsides to remaining a premium niche brand:

At some point a niche market becomes saturated. Apple currently has up to an estimated 10% of the PC marketplace. It'sunlikely that much more than 10% of consumers want a premium PC at a premium price. Using BMW as an analogy, BMW makes

great high end cars but unless they ever start producing cars and trucks that are salable outside their niche market they willremain a niche player, with limited growth potential.

Some Mac users might say "So what? Apple is doing just fine as a premium PC manufacturer.". These are the same people whokeep hoping that Apple's market share will continue to grow. The problem is that Apple's market share growth is limited to theavailable market for its products. Because of this, Apple's market share may be already reaching its limit.

EIGHT CLUES TO HAPPINESSBy- KHUSHWANT SINGH

Having lived a reasonably contented life, I was musing over what a person should strive for to achievehappiness. I drew up a list of a few essentials which I put forward for the readers' appraisal.

1. First and foremost is GOOD HEALTH. If you do not enjoy good health you can never be happy. Any ailment, however trivial, will deduct from your happiness.

2. Second, A HEALTHY BANK BALANCE. It need not run into crores but should be enough to provide forcreature comforts and something to spare for recreation, like eating out, going to the pictures, travelling orgoing on holidays on the hills or by the sea. Shortage of money can be only demoralizing. Living on credit orborrowing is demeaning and lowers one in one's own eyes.

3. Third, A HOME OF YOUR OWN. Rented premises can never give you the snug feeling of a nest which is yoursfor keeps that a home provides: if it has a garden space, all the better. Plant your own trees and flowers, seethem grow and blossom, cultivate a sense of kinship with them.

4. Fourth, AN UNDERSTANDING COMPANION, be it your spouse or a friend. If there are too many

misunderstandings, they will rob you of your peace of mind. It is better to be divorced than to bicker all thetime.

5. Fifth, LACK OF ENVY towards those who have done better than you in life; risen higher, made more money,or earned more fame. Envy can be very corroding; avoid comparing yourself with others.

6. Sixth, DO NOT ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE to descend on you for gup-shup. By the time you get rid of them, youwill feel exhausted and poisoned by their gossip-mongering.

7. Seventh, CULTIVATE SOME HOBBIES which can bring you a sense of fulfilment, such as gardening, reading, writing, painting, playing or listening to music. Going to clubs or parties to get free drinks or to meetcelebrities is criminal waste of time.

8. Eighth, every morning and evening, devote 15 minutes to INTROSPECTION. In the morning, 10 minutesshould be spent on stilling the mind and then five in listing things you have to do that day. In the evening, fiveminutes to still the mind again, and ten to go over what you had undertaken to do.

RICHNESS is not earning More, Spending more or saving more, but...

"RICHNESS IS WHEN YOU NEED NO MORE"
