Blessings on this Easter season! Thank you to the many participants in our Lent Bile Study and

discussions on the church. This was an important first step as the church seeks to discern God’s call for this body of Christ! I learned a lot, and wanted to share a bit of the learning highlights of our time together from participants:

• “I loved the discussions – so many knowledgeable people in our group.”

• “I found the discussions about sin, and about the Sabbath being a day of rest, quite interesting.”

• “I liked the large group of uniquely different people coming together to study God’s word.”

• “Seeing so many come together in our church for Bible study was awesome.”

• “Wow! This study was so uplifting and Spirit-driven! A great time of fellowship. By having Jessica prepare and distribute the Lenten season lessons in advance, it allowed us to jump into readings and conversations soon after opening prayer. Realizing that each of us have various levels of knowledge of the Bible, it never gave into a feeling of intimidation. Once we got into a discussion about our scripture readings, time flew. Great learning experience. I’m so looking forward to it resuming again this fall.”

• “We are all different and have different interpretations of the scripture. And those different interpretations left me with a lot of ‘a-ha’ moments. It was insightful and uplifting spending time discussing the Bible. I left with a new drive to learn and explore more of the Bible and God’s plan for me.“

• “I like Bible studies - this was a good one. I like discussing the Bible and our lives with my fellow Christians. I love laughing with my Christian friends.”

•“This study showed me just how complex the Bible is to understand. Enjoyed looking in depth at the different things discussed.”

• “I gained such understanding in regards to how different passages connect to give deeper insight into how Christ is, God’s plan for creation. So many completely new thoughts and questions. I loved having such a variety of backgrounds and ages. It brought a richness and depth I hadn’t imagined. I really appreciated including essays and questions/discussions about our church.”

Keep your eyes peeled for Bible study next fall as we dig into the beatitudes. We’ll discern where God is calling us as individuals and as the body of Christ. Please continue to read the Bible as we witness to the Risen Christ.

Easter flowers beautified our sanctuary

this Easter season. They were given in

memory of the following people:

Do you have a skill or talent that you’d be willing to share with a church member?

Perhaps you like to wash/clean windows, mow yards, organize a garage, plant a garden, cook a meal,

paint a fence, walk dogs, babysit, or pet sit.

Do you have a chore that needs to be done, but you can’t (or don’t want to) do it?

Go through your closet and donate to Goodwill, fix a broken door, paint the house, power wash the house,

weed the yard, complete scrapbook projects, clean your ceiling fan. . . the list could go on and on!

PW will be hosting a Silent Auction on June 4th in Fellowship Hall where church members can bid on chores

to be done during the months of June and/or July. The services/chores ‘up for sale’ will be showcased the

week BEFORE the bidding begins.

• Please call or email Erin the following suggestions during the month of May: •

1 - What service/chore you can provide to a church member.

AND / OR

2 - What chore/need you would like to have done to make your life easier.

We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone. - - Ronald Reagan

May Greetings! Do we all have a touch of spring fever?

Quoting Margaret Atwood: “In the spring at the end of

the day, you should smell like dirt.” I know I can’t resist

the urge to be outside working in the yard and garden.

And, lucky us - we get to enjoy these days as we visit

with you!

We made 9 nursing home visits, 8 home visits, and 2

hospital visits. Birthday wishes were given to Eileen

Crosby, Stan Erickson, Donna Stark, and Lorraine Ellis.

We assisted our pastor with 2 home communions and

with the Kennybrook service. And lastly, 8 crocheted

blankets were delivered to the Granger Nursing Home.

Blessings from the Deacons,

Bev, Gai, Phyllis, Robbin, Susan, Joyce, & Bill

Lord, I do not ask for a faith that will move mountains, I pray, Lord, for enough faith to move me.
