Know Your Healthy numbers

Healthy blood sugar (glucose) is important for good health. Blood sugar levels are measured in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL). Higher-than-normal blood glucose levels (known as hyperglycemia) may be an indicator of diabetes. A normal blood sugar level should be between 70 and 100 mg/dL. Make sure to compare your numbers to the chart below and ask your doctor if your blood sugar levels are in the healthy range.

What is a healthy range for blood sugar?

target at risk of type 2 diabetes

at high risk of type 2 diabetes

100 mg/dl 100-125 mg/dl Over 125 mg/dl

total Cholesterol

Body Mass index

Blood Pressure

200 mg/dl 18.5 – 24.9 120/80

Other Healthy Numbers to ConsiderHere are some more health ranges to consider. We’ll take a more in-depth look at each of these in future newsletters.
