Our Little Sunshine infants were engaged in cookery activity where they created their own sandwiches! The infants explored and learnt to recognise the food . It also

enhanced their fine motor skills.

Mother ‘s Day Celebration

The infants are never too young to show their appreciation on Mother’s Day. They made their own cards for their mothers through finger painting activity. Happy Mother’s Day!

Tiny Tots

During Kindness Day, the toddlers were introduced to the community helpers. They were taught to help neighbours in need and how to respond politely to them.

They created a simple collage of a heart shape as a symbol of love towards the community.

Toddlers designed a card for their mothers to celebrate Mother’s Day. Look at how focused they were in giving their best for their mothers!

The children explored finger dexterity activities ; finger dotting of

their favourite fruits. They truly enjoyed creating their artwork and

were able to name various fruits created by their friends as well.

As a follow-up activity, children sorted the fruits and vegetables

accordingly as they verbalised the target words ‘fruits’ and ‘vegetables’.

The Nursery 1 children were exposed to Healthy Eating by

using the HPB Resource Healthy Plate. They created their own

healthy plate based on the pictures on the card.

The children learnt to select carefully their food for their plate.

In April, the N2 children had their hands busy learning about the importance of the 3Rs.They had fun understanding why keeping our neighborhood clean is important. The children put on the hand gloves and brought along the black trash bag as they walked around the neighborhood to pick up rubbish. It was hard work but they did it. Well done N2!

In line with May’s learning theme on Community Helpers in Uniform Groups, we invited Dr Tang, a dentist, from The Kidz Dentist, Camden Medical Centre. With Dr Tang’s sharing, the children learnt the correct way to brush their teeth and also important ways to keep their teeth healthy.

In line with the theme, ”Community Helpers”, the K1s had so much fun in

making their own fire truck cookies as they developed their fine motor skills

while preparing the healthy snack.

They enjoyed reading and spelling out the CVC words in a fun way by bouncing

the ball to the letters on the floor. Through this activity,

they also enhanced their gross motor skills while

dribbling the ball.

This activity helped them to reinforce their numeracy concepts of shapes in enjoyable way. They ate the cookies

while describing the taste and discussing with their friends, the

importance of eating healthy snacks.

K2的小朋友正在用手印画来制作八抓鱼呢，在制作中，能够培养幼儿的想象力与创作力。让幼儿们能够记住各种动物的名字。以及它们的生活习性。

Based on the theme of “family”, the K2s demonstrated an experiment where they imitated their mothers’ hugs. This activity developed their fine motor skills as they cut and pasted the tissue paper to creatively draw their mothers. They also discovered the

concept of static electricity by using balloons.

The K2s were having a great time playing ”Traffic Lights” . This helped in their gross motor skills as they dribbled the ball in different directions. They also learnt the importance of following road traffic rules.

The N2 to K2 children participated in various activities under the school’s programme, Nature Magnified. They learnt the importance of taking care of the environment so as to protect Mother Earth.

The K1 and K2 children did a clean-up where they roamed around the neighbourhood to pick up litters. It was a great accomplishment for them when they were able to find litters and threw them in the right places.

The K1 children set up their own semi self-sustaining plant using the plastic bottles and other recycled materials.

The N2 children became zero to hero as they used plastic bottles and recycled them into a stationery holder and a Kandama toy. How creative they were!

The K2 children created a poster on the different types of weeds based on what they have learnt and discovered while walking around the neighbourhood.

Rangers, attention! The little rangers of KMBR, Toddler to K2 children, participated in the two-day launch of KMBR’s SSDB 2019 Project entitled ”Cries of an Animal Kingdom.” The project focuses on caring for the animals and how to preserve them. During the first day of the launch, the children were exposed to various animal kingdoms that they will discover during the project. The K1 and K2 children also performed a choral speech entitled “Song of the Sea” that talks about conservation of marine animals and effects of plastic in the ocean.

SSDB Virtual Launch: KMBR Lil Rangers Deployed!!

On day two of the launch, which was also the closure, the KMBR little rangers went to S.E.A. Aquarium in Sentosa to be more aware of the marine life and the effects of human actions to marine life. Afterwards, the children wrote their pledge on ways they can contribute to take care of animals.

In conjunction with the Term 2’s sub-theme on "Food", the

toddlers up to K2 had a learning journey to Green Circle Eco-Farm on 2 May.

They explored the plants, vegetables and herbs that

grow in the farm. They had an up-close encounter with farm animals which required them to use their senses to get to

know them.

They also planted seeds in the empty Yakult/Vitagen bottles

and brought them home.

An in-house celebration of Mother’s Day with the theme ”Let’s Get Active! (SUPER-MUMs Edition)” was held on 10 May.

The event‘s aim is to make Mother’s Day extra special as the children spent quality time with them.

In promoting healthy living, the children prepared three Zumba dances. The children led the dance steps and all the mommies followed!

The mothers had enjoyed themselves dancing as they completed the whole course.

Each class did their own art & craft session together with their mommies. It was a meaningful and wonderful bonding session!

For the closure of the event, the children prepared a simple Mother’s Day song. They then presented handmade tokens such as cards for their mommies.

A simple, yet memorable celebration for mommies; something they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

KMBR children came together to celebrate the Singapore Kindness Day on 17 May 2019. Activities were prepared to encourage children to show appreciation to their peers and adults around them.

They played games to promote awareness in communicating politely and appropriately with their peers.

The children created and gave out “Thank You” cards to show their appreciation towards others.

Their last activity was to complete the activity book of "Singa and friends". They feel accomplished as they completed all the tasks in the book.

It is time to give back to our helpers in the community as the KMBR children paid tribute to them through various activities.

The K1 and K2 children exhibited a fashion show of different community helpers and presented a short skit on their roles in the neighbourhood.

T2 Disposition Day: Care for Community Helpers

The children surprised the community helpers in the neighbourhood with handmade ”Thank You” cards.

This activity instilled in them the act of kindness to those who keep our neighbourhood safe and clean.

The disposition day for community helpers ended with a cookery session. They children imagined themselves as chefs and participated in cooking a healthy meal. Well Done KMBR children!

The K1 children were exposed to the primate ‘Cotton Top Tamarin’. They made puppets using

paper bags. They discovered fun facts such as Cotton Top Tamarin will raise up their hair, to

show that they are fierce.

JUNE SSDB DEEP PROJECT: Primate Kingdom

KMBR Lil Rangers in ACTION This year’s June D.E.E.P project focused on the primate kingdom. Each level chose a

primate that they would focus on during the learning journey. KMBR collaborated with Singapore Zoo, where they shared information that the children need for the project.

The focus primate for K2 is the orangutan. Various activities were

done by the children to get to know the orangutan. The K2’s project ended

with building a rainforest diorama together with the K1 children.

N1 and N2 created chimpanzee crafts.

JUNE DEEP PROJECT: Primate Kingdom Father’s Day Special: Primate Spotting

In collaboration with the Singapore Zoo, we organised a ‘Primate Spotting’ Treasure Hunt for fathers in celebration of Father’s Day. We spent a day, ‘Primate Spotting’ around the zoo. It was heartwarming to witness them creating a special father- child bonding! Thank you to all fathers who had participated in making the event a huge success. Great teamwork everyone!

KMBR had teamed up with the Zoo Education Department, in giving the children a special up close and personal moment with the zookeeper at the Orang Utan station. The children were ready with the questions that they would like to ask the zookeeper about the orang utans that were cared for at the zoo. They also learnt about the enrichment boxes that were placed in the apes enclosure and the facial expressions of the primates that were similar to humans. At the end of the project, the children learnt that despite the differences, primates are similar to humans in some ways. Thus, they now understand the need to care for animals around them.

Hari Raya Celebration cum SSDB June Project Exhibition

On 28 June, parents were invited to the centre’s Hari Raya Celebration cum Showcase of SSDB June Project Exhibition. Teachers had planned cultural parent-child activities for the day as children and parents were exposed to the different types of customary practices, traditional costumes and different types of cultural dance performances by the children such as Zapin, Dikir Barat and Inang.

In addition to the Hari Raya Celebration, we organised SSDB June Project Exhibition. Children and teachers dedicated time during the last week of June, to prepare for the Hari Raya performances and the exhibition. Children assisted teachers with the labels and touched up on their 2D and 3D works. Thank you parents for spending time with us at the event!
