We have moved from ware house to knowledge centre, Librarian to Information/ Knowledge professional. As time goes several new technologies and tool came into force, along with that the type of Library activities also changed time to time.

without the existence of LIS education it is basically impossible to be a part of this journey.

HISTORY OF LIS EDUCATION

W.A. Bordon initiated the formal LIS education in the year 1911/12 at Baroda followed by Dickinson at Punjab University in the year 1915.

Bengal Library Association has started certificate course on 1935
