Sustainable MobilityInfrastructure Solutions and Smart Mobility Systems.

It is expected that 66% of the world population will live in urban centers by 2050, increasing the demand for infrastructure prepared to face the challenges of road congestion and air pollution.

The transportation industry plays a critical role in generating solutions to achieve more livable cities as well as more efficient interstate corridors, that contribute to enhance wellbeing and progress. In this scenario, at ALEATICA we are committed on the following three lines of work to attain our vision of sustainable infrastructure:

Megacities & the Future of Wellbeing

Progressive low carbon assets operation

Investments aimed at energy efficiency in managed infrastructure and the incorporation of technological resources to optimize the operation of our projects.

Sustainable mobility

Development of systems and mobile applications to improve and make mobility more efficient, and awareness campaigns that contribute to forging a new culture of urban mobility.

Strategic alliances

Toll discounts for sustainable customers and collaborative research projects focused on the environmental challenge.

Progressive Low Carbon Assets Operation

‒ Use of solar PV energy to power the lights on the road and toll plazas.

‒ Solar farms in the vicinity of the managed highways and port infrastructure and implementation of LED technology.

‒ Progressive update of our vehicle fleet to cleaner fuels.

‒ Use of drone for supervision and road planning to replace the use of vehicles.

‒ Increase in the green index of infrastructure under concession.

The identification of areas of opportunity for the reduction of polluting emissions and the increase of green areas in the surroundings of our projects aims to contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of our business activities.

Port of Valparaíso concession decreased energy consumption by more than 60%, starting in March 2015, with the implementation of led lighting in the current esplanade (approximately 33,000 m2), where the three berths of the general merchandise terminal operate.

Starting in 2017, we began working hand in hand with our eTolloperator in Mexico to envision sustainable mobility solutions from our own management profile as transport infrastructure operators.

As part of this effort in the summer, a new electronic toll device was launched, the ECOTAG, which recognizes the environmental commitment assumed by our customers with electric or hybrid vehicles, granting a 20% discount when using the urban highways in Mexico City -megalopolis with about 25 million inhabitants.

More trips and less emissions, first resultsAs part of the monitoring indicators of the initiative are carried out sampling on the number of toll crossings made by our ECOTAG customers. Although it is early to establish a clear trend, during the first semester of operation TeleVia has registered more than 60,000 trips using the promotional TAG device.

We also calculated the emissions avoided in these first months of activity by comparing the same route made by clean vehicles versus conventional cars.

The environmental challenge

The fight against air pollution in large urban centers is undoubtedly a great challenge that must be undertaken to minimize green house gas emissions in public health, the economy and the quality of life of citizens.

In this context ALEATICA and TeleVía are promoting a new collaborative project, the Environmental Transportation Challenge, which puts forward an innovation competition that brings together various multidisciplinary teams of the best professional profiles, to work on solutions to the environmental challenge driven from the transport infrastructure and sustainable mobility sector.
