During the handing over steps at the origin station , our customers are remitting paper based consignment note.

In the hand over stations with the other partners RU, we are exchanging our shipments via paper based consignment notes.

On a experimental basis we have deployed a procedure for remote consignment notes printing on local sites.

We have a network of about forty centres where consignment notescan be keyed-in to feed our invoicing application.

The above described process is heavy, expensive, poorly reactive and error prone.

We were obliged to create a more efficient procedure

We decided to propose to our customers an electronic based system (EDI or WEB)

Based on that decision we launched the elvproject:

– Electronic based acquisition of consignment notes

– Automatic feed to the invoicing chain

– Online customer’s consignment note linked to the invoice.

– Electronic based archiving

The process of remitting the consignment note is the same whichever the evolution of the organization might be (Fret SNCF or Customer)

The centralized system allows a work flow between the central sites and the local expedition sites

The online help and the validation process guide the operators during the keying activities (Web site)

The automatization of the processes for the consignment note working out validates the data (EDI)

The online “customer” sample of the consignment note allows an easy verification of the invoice.

This device (Personal Digital Assistant) values the place of the local operator on the supply chain.

• NOMADE gives the ability of a strong linkbetween local operator and local production center.

• It gives an important function to the local operator: control of collected data in real-time

• It improves efficiency of supply chain, and reliability of data

• At least, it reduces delay of collect invoicingelements
