The Waste Prevention and Management Act and Regulation, 2012 stipulates the promotion of the principles of 3Rs

Re-Use:
In order to promote, reuse and recycling, waste segregation is an essential task. Hence, Thimphu and few other districts towns are implementing Public Private Partnership for Integrated Solid Waste Management where segregation of waste is carried out.
High Organic content of MSW indicated opportunity for recycling of organic waste and therefore few compost plants are installed.
