NIST Agreement:

Dr. Stuart BorrettInterim Associate Provost for Research

use of MARBIONC

• NIST provided a $15 million grant to help build

the MARBIONC (2010)

• 13 laboratories (16,560 sq ft) for lease for marine

science entrepreneurship, technology transfer,

and economic development

• As of October 2018, 8 labs are leased to

companies (62% of lease sq ft)

• Requesting NIST permission to use the

unleased laboratories to accommodate faculty

displaced from Dobo Hall for up to 3 years.
