Teaching and Learning
• A teacher’s role is to actively engage students in the process
of teaching and learning as well as helping them become
independent, responsible and well-balanced individuals.
• Learning should take place in a variety of different ways
including: personal, collaborative and with practical tasks
that contextualize what is being learnt. This offers students
a selection of learning styles to achieve their goals.
• In my opinion, student evaluation is a vital part of the teaching
and learning process. Assessment with clear learning
objectives informs students of the criteria before beginning
activities. It should also include self-evaluation as well as pier
evaluation.
• I often use methods and resources that offer variety allowing
students to work both individually and collaboratively.
• I am aware of the various levels of knowledge and abilities
that exist in my classroom and the students with special
needs and cater for these as necessary, using I.E.P’s
(Individual Education Plans).
• Active learning has been proven to be more effective than
passive learning. Therefore, I design activities to help
students learn in an experimental way.
• The main objective of my classes is to enhance the
communicative competence of students and enabling them
to make correct use of the language. I believe P.B.L (Project
Based Learning) can serve this purpose.
• My target is not to teach Spanish as an abstract subject but
help my students achieve the best knowledge of the different
skills involved in communication: reading, listening, writing
and speaking. In short, I want to prepare my students to
communicate successfully.

Class Management
● I treat students with the same respect I expect from them.
● I like learning their names quickly and recognize his or her
individual qualities and academic ability.
● I try to be fair, positive, and consistent. I try also to admit
my mistakes and to keep my sense of humor.
● I think is very important to determine jointly with the class
what is and isn’t acceptable in terms of behavior and
achievement. I would have a maximun of five rueles and
display then in the classroom.
● It is better to have routines to follow each day as students
enter and leave the room.
● I never threaten or use sarcasm. I do not think it is a good
idea to use threats to enforce discipline, and obviously I
never humiliate a child.
● I try to avoid arguing with students because discussions
about classwork are invaluable, but arguments can become
emotional encounters.
● I I prefer to move around my class. I usually walk around
the room as students work or respond to instruction.
● I know it is difficult sometimes but I try to let each student
start each day with a clean slate.
Use of New Technologies

● Good use of new tecnologies can often enrich the teaching
and learning processes.
● Technology, such as the aquisition of ICT skills, is vital to
students in a modern society.
● The use of Technology allows more productive lessons and
less rote learning.
● It also makes it easier to motivate students, using new
media activities.
● New technologies facilitates mentoring and communication
with families and the environment.
● The interactive whiteboard provides more resources and
opportunities to learn. Students are often more attentive
and motivated. They understand the content of the lesson
and participate freely.
● New technologies are a powerful tool enabling students to
learn, but this does not mean we should abandon
established procedures that have proven their
effectiveness.
● The best use of ICT is to add something to a lesson, for the
benefit of the students.
● I use ICT in a daily basis to comunicate with students in
many different ways: e-mail, Google Drive and Google
Calendar. I also have a web page and a Blog. I communicate
student progress or other issues to parents via email if they
agree with the method.
