How Are Commands Entered?Like many other software, the SAP 2000 program commands are entered in two ways:1. By pointing, i.e., you use the mouse pointer to select menu item, object such as joint, frame, etc.2. By typing many selections in the drop-down menus cause dialog boxes to appear wherein fields are ready for manual inputting of the required value / parameter. Unlike STAAD, it does not have the editor / text facility wherein you can directly write commands; it only uses the graphical user interface (GUI) as shown next page.The Interface
The File menu : The first option in the Interface main menu is the File; click on it to access:
To select an option within the File menu: e.g. to import an AutoCAD dxf file, select Import, then AutoCAD file, as shown:
To export an AutoCAD dxf file (while the File menu is still active), select Export, then AutoCAD file, as shown:
To capture the image in your current SAP2000 screen (while the File menu is still active), select Capture Picture, then SAP2000 Main Window, as shown:
