Innovation Union at a glance
Horizon 2020 Europe’s research programme
• Need to move to a knowledge society and to become a more competitive and sustainable economy…to pursue those objectives the EU should carry out activities to implement research, technological development, demonstration and innovation…
• H2020 should support all stages in the research and innovation chain (including non-technological and social innovation and activities that are closer to the market)…
• Both H2020 and the cohesion policy seek a more comprehensive alignment with the Europe 2020 objectives of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. This approach calls for increased synergies between these two instruments.
