1. INTRODUCTION TO JALTEST MARINE

The latest software version Jaltest Marine 18.1 offers once more new improvements and innovations, which consolidate this tool as a benchmark in multibrand diagnosis for recreational and commercial boats, fishing vessels, rescue boats…

VERSION 18.1

Below is a summary of this Jaltest Marine version update, which includes, among others, the following innovations:

o Incorporation of new Scania Models. o More functionalities in Caterpillar models. o New brands: Ilmor and Indmar. o New series of Yanmar models. o Improvement in product coverage: Stationary engines.

Remember also that, for security reasons, the Expert Mode has changed in this first version of the year. Please, access the client area on the website to request it again.

A Jaltest Feedback history has been added, where you can check the saved and sent messages.

2.2 LOCATION OF FUSES AND RELAYS IN WIRING DIAGRAMS

The fuses of the wiring diagrams are related to the components in the fuse and relay boxes.

2.3 SEARCH TOOL IN THE SYSTEM ACTION TREE

An action search tool has been incorporated in the diagnosis menu to quickly find the desired action.

2.4 POSIBILIY TO ADD CUSTOMISED TROBLESHOOTING GUIDES TO AN ERROR

Possibility for the customer to create troubleshooting guides and specific procedures for diagnosis errors. In addition, they can be shared through the Jaltest Feedback service.

After adding a specific troubleshooting guide, the verification steps must be defined. A compulsory name for each step should be assigned, while the description is optional.

3. JALTEST MARINE 18.1. COVERAGE IMPROVEMENTS AND INNOVATIONS

3.1 INBOARD

Under this category you can find all interior or inboard engines, regardless of size, application or fuel used in the vessel. Listed below are the brands with innovations in the Jaltest Marine 18.1 version.

3.1.1 CATERPILLAR

In version 18.1, the majority of the engine management systems in Caterpillar models have been extended, including functions such as:

- Cylinder cut-out. - Injector test. - Intake air heater. - Injection activation pressure. - …

3.1.2 ILMOR NEW!

Incorporation of Ilmor to the Jaltest Marine brand coverage. Their engines are generally used in recreational craft and in tow water sports.

The models currently available in Jaltest Marine are:

- 5.7 L MV-8 - 6.0 L MV-8 - 6.2 L MV-8

The system used in these models is MEFI 5 of GM. It has proprietary diagnosis and measurements in real time.

The 5.7 L displacement system has wiring diagram and system technical data.

3.1.3 INDMAR NEW!

Incorporation of Indmar to the Jaltest Marine brand coverage. Their engines are generally used in recreational craft and in tow water sports.

The models currently available in Jaltest Marine are:

- 5.7 L - 5.7 L HO

The system used in these models is MEFI 5 of GM. It has proprietary diagnosis and measurements in real time.

Both models have wiring diagram and system technical data.

3.1.4 IVECO

• Development of the compression test for models of the NEF family.

The new action applies to the following models:

- N40 ENT M25 - N60 ENT M37 - N60 ENT M40 - N67 ENT M45

• New family Cursor 13 Series with models:

- C13 ENS M33 - C13 ENT M50

The main functions of the engine management system are the following: Diagnosis, clearing errors, ECU data, measurement selection, system display, cylinder cut-out, engine speed and compression test.

These systems also have technical information: Wiring diagram, system technical data, troubleshooting guide by symptoms (specific for the brand).

3.1.5 MERCURY/MERCRUISER

• Los Mercury/MerCruiser engines with catalyst (ECT Emission Control Technology) are incorporated into the coverage of the American brand.

The new models added are:

- 3.0 MPI ECT - 350 MAG MPI ECT - 377 MAG ECT - 4.3 MPI ECT - 5.0 MPI ECT - 5.7 Horizon ECT - 5.7 MPI ECT - 6.2 Horizon ECT - 8.2 HO ECT - 8.2 Horizon ECT - 8.2 MAG ECT - 8.2 MAG HO ECT - Scorpion 350 ECT

All of them have two systems available:

- PCM-09 (OBD-M) Engine management system with the following functions: Proprietary diagnosis and measurement reading in real time.

- DTS Digital throttle and shift system with the following available functions: Calibration and engine start-up.

• The PCM (CAN) system has been added with the following functions:

Diagnosis, system data, measurements in real time. It also includes technical information: Wiring diagram, system technical data, component pictures, guides for troubleshooting by symptoms (specific for the brand), vessel technical data, and vessel service data. The models it applies to are:

- 496 MAG - 496 MAG HO - 8.1S HO - 8.1S Horizon

3.1.6 SCANIA

Incorporation of the DEC2 series engines.

The engine management system has the following functions: Diagnosis, ECU data, operation data, display of parameters, measurement reading in real time. It also includes technical information: wiring diagram, system technical data and component pictures.

The new models are:

- DI12 DEC2 - DI14 DEC2 - DI9 DEC2

These models also include a new connector: JDC 626M

3.1.7 YANMAR

In the 18.1 version, the 4JH Series engine family has been developed.

The new models include: Diagnosis and measurements in real time, in addition to technical information: wiring diagram and component pictures.

- 4JH45 - 4JH57 - 4JH80 - 4JH110

3.1.8 VOLVO PENTA

For this version 18.1, a new connector has been developed: JDC 625M, which is compatible with the J1708 and J1939 communication protocols. It will replace the connector JDC 605M (J1708).

3.2 OUTBOARD

Under this category you can find all outboard or exterior engines. All engines included in the Jaltest Marine coverage use gasoline and the powers vary between 9.9 and 400 HP. Listed below are the brands with innovations in the version 18.1:

3.2.1 MERCURY / MARINER

• EDC DFI is the new engine management system added to the following models of the OptiMax family:

- 115 OptiMax - 135 OptiMax - 150 OptiMax - 175 OptiMax - 200 OptiMax - 225 OptiMax

This system will help improve coverage in Mercury/Mariner brands with the following features: Diagnosis, ECU data, measurements in real time, actuation of the system’s main relay, tachometer operation, lamp actuation, warning alarm actuation, oil pump actuation, air injector actuation, fuel injector actuation, ignition coil actuation, cylinder cut-out, oil pump check, autotest, and reading/clearing of the data record.

It also includes the following technical information: wiring diagram, system technical data, component pictures and troubleshooting guides by symptom guide.

• Expansion of ECM CAN system functionalities that apply to the following models:

The following functions have been incorporated: Display and modification of engine location and tachometer parameters, warning alarm actuation, ignition coil actuation, tachometer actuation, injector actuation, fuel pump relay actuation, idle air control valve actuation, cylinder cut-out, autotest, acceleration test and maintenance service reset.

A new connector has been developed in the 18.1 version, which will allow the connection to Mercury CAN systems in certain models that need to insert a CAN terminal resistor. This connector is the JDC 650. It will be the user who must determine which extension cable must be used for the connection to Mercury CAN systems: JDC 600 or JDC 650.

3.3 STATIONARY ENGINES NEW!

The most important innovation of the version is the incorporation of the Stationary Engines button. Here, the user will have access to the main manufacturers of industrial engines on the market. In the nautical sector, they are generally used as electric generators.

Listed below are the brand included in the version 18.1:

Within Stationary Cummins you will find the entire range of industrial engines of the brand, divided into the following families and models:
