GOOGLE INFO– HISTORY
• Originally a research project named "BackRub" by Larry Page in 1996.
• Began at Stanford University, on the Stanford servers.
• Page was soon joined by Sergey Brin, and the two came up with the name "Google"
• The company was officially incorporated in September, 1998.
• Google Inc. moved to 1600 Ampitheatre Parkway in Mountainview, CA in 2003.
– This complex is now known as the "Googleplex."

– OVERVIEW • Google's unofficial motto is "Don't Be Evil." • However, their goal is to organize all of the world's
information and make it acessible to users. • As a business, Google makes money by providing the
opportunity of delivering measurable, cost-effective online advertising that is relevant to the information displayed on any given page.
• Google always distinguishes ads from the search results or other content on a page.
• Placements in the search result rankings are never sold, but are determined by PageRank technology.
