Bahamas

- The Arawak Indians were the first inhabitants of the Bahamas.

-They became an independent nation in 1973.

-The island was renamed Eleuthera, meaning freedom.

- The country’s latitude and longitude is 25.0667°N and 77.33330°W.

- The country is only 21 miles long and 14 miles across.

- It is about 5,382 Square miles.- It is about 82°F and hotter in the

summer and 50°F in the spring.

Only about 30 island in Bahamas are in habited.

The Archipelago has of about 700 islands and 2,400 inhabited islands.

There’s no rivers in the Bahamas but there are a lot of creeks like “Sandy Creek, Deep Creek, Simon Creek” etc.

There is no bordering country near Bahamas because it is an island nation.

This is the Bahamian flag.

The flag is baby blue, yellow and black. The black is a triangle with yellow and blue stripes. The flag was adopted on July 10th, 1973.

Bahamas capital city is Nassau.

Lucayan is one of Bahamas large city.

Freeport is another large city in Bahamas.

The population of Bahamas is 377,374

people.

The government is a unitary state, constitutional monarchy, parliamentary system.

This is the government building in Bahamas.

The Non-Perry Christie is the head of the governments.

These are the Bahamian dollars.

They mostly speak English and Bahamian Dialect. Christian is the major religion in Bahamas.

It is like 21° in the Spring. It is 85° and higher in the Summer.The rest of the year is usually warmer.

Their famous drink there is “The Bahamas Mama”

Three major attractions a tourist might want to visit is :- The Gold Rock Beach- The Castaway Cave

- And The Thunderball Grotto
