• SpongeBob Squarepants is a animation about the main character SpongeBob, he is an incredibly optimistic sea sponge. Him and his friends live underwater in a city called ‘bikini bottom’. Whether searching for the ultimate spatula to perfect his burger flipping technique at the Krusty Krab, or just hanging out with his best friend Patrick (an amiable starfish), SpongeBob's good intentions and over happy approach to life usually annoys people and create chaos in his underwater world. One of those who this effects most is Squidward, Patrick and SpongeBob's happiness is a bit to much For Squidward to handle at times .

The Structure

• The show begins with the theme tune and credits, the theme tune then fades out and then the show begins and a scenario is set out and revealed. At the end of the show the problem is resolved and the characters usually end up learning a lesson from there dilemma. The theme tune comes back on with credits.

The Language Style

• The language style of SpongeBob square pants is formal yet childlike. They use words such as ‘stupid’ and ‘idiot’ because this can be seen as inappropriate to children it is appealing. They tend to speak in a friendly tone and a slow pace so it isn't chaotic.
