Mission & Purpose of the PTAMission & Purpose of the PTA• To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the

community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;

• To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;

• To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

• To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.

• To raise the standards of home life.

• To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.

• To bring into closer relation the home and school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.

• To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

How Can You Help?How Can You Help?

• Join the PTA and attend our meetings!

• Volunteer your time to assist in organizing and running these events.

• Participate in fundraising programs such as Carnival or Race for Education, Book Fair, Silver Diner Night, COACH Bingo, etc.

• Sign-up for the PTA e-mail loop and read the online updates at http://cooper.cherryhill.k12.nj.us/ to see what is happening.

• SMART Board and iPads

The PTA plans on purchasing approximately 10 iPads with last year’s PTA fundraiser dollars. Mrs. Price will purchase the iPad cases for them. The PTA is committed to buying additional iPads in future school years. They are a great tool in the classroom!

The PTA also plans on purchasing a SMART Board for the additional 5th grade classroom. With this purchase the school will now have SMART Boards in several classrooms.

• Technology for the Classrooms

The PTA would like to purchase additional technology, (e.g. iPads, laptops or SMART Boards) for the teachers use, as well as iTunes cards to purchase additional applications for the iPads.

Upcoming EventsUpcoming Events

• Fundraisers Scholastic Book Fair: There will be

two Book Fairs.

Silver Diner: Teachers help deliver the food. Plus, there are crafts and balloon animals.

COACH Bingo: Fall date TBD. Spring date is April 21st.

Spring Fundraiser: TBD - Either Race for Education or Carnival

Movie Nights: There will be several movie nights held at Cooper School.

Skating Parties: One will be at CH Skating Center and one at IFC.
