This Week’s Highlights

• Tested Receiver with attenuation and shielding

• Measured power output from GDS1250 TX and our own VCSEL

• Alignment tolerance tests• Loopback tests with attenuation and

shielding• Start work on final paper

Power output from lasers

• Typical power output from the GDS1250 TX is 0.364mW

• With the 5dB attenuator 0.0067mW (with the adjustment: 0.0605mW)

• Max power output from our laser is almost 2mW!

• Adjusted output to around 1mW (eyesafe)

Alignment Tolerance Setup

Alignment Tolerance Results

• Region where we get acceptable results is basically circular

• Although, we may have estimated the center wrong

• Able to get a good eye, at center, up to 820um away

Plans for the Coming Week

• Attempt to clean up loopback results • Complete the final paper
