What are MCC & MyCite
MCC
• Malaysian Citation Centre was established in February 2011 by MoHE.
• to coordinate the collation and dissemination of scholarly works in journals, conference proceedings, book chapters, books and theses.
• MCC hosts the MyCite (Malaysian Citation Index), that analyses and provides citation data.
MyCite
• derived from MyAIS (Malaysian Abstracting and Indexing System, (http://myais.fsktm.um.edu.my) developed by the Digital Library Research Group, at the University of Malaya since 2007
• aims to support accessibility to and visibility of Malaysian journals.
• is linked MyJurnal (http://www.myjurnal.my) to extract the bibliographic data for display and calculation of bibliometric statistics.
• There are altogether 154 journals under 5 main disciplines covered by Myjurnal
• Out of this, 113 journals are reported in MyCite Citation Report as journals covered by MyCite need to have published at least two issues in order to accrue citation count, impact or h-index score.

Summary
It is envisioned that MyCite would help improve journal quality, increase indexation in universal citation databases and contribute to the enrichment of the corpus of Malaysia’s scholarly content.
The findings may be useful to Malaysian journal publishers to gauge their citedness in MyCite and provide a direction to further improve their quality and ultimately gain indexation status at the national and international level.
It is also envisioned that MyCite would help Malaysian journals to attain more visibility thus increase the citations.
Future
• Collaborate to initiate ASEAN Citation Index.• More coverage to Conferences, books and theses
