In John 6, it is already proven that God is a God of possibilities. Being able to feed the five thousand men (not including the number of women and children) shows that Jesus can defeat all doubts or fears that one has. However, in this passage we can also note that there are times, or even most of the times that we (humans) can be like His disciples. Even if we are at the side of Jesus and we are assured that we belong to Him, we always have those but's and if's or excuses or extra unecessary answers and theories/assumptions in any given situation. In verse 5, Jesus tested Philip by asking WHERE should they buy bread for the many crowd following them. But Philip didn't answer the question. Instead, he worried and dwell on the impossibilty to feed these people by replying "it would take more than a half a year's wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite." Jesus question is so simple yet Philip made it so complicated. My dear brothers and sisters, let's make this earthly life more meaningful by embracing simplicity. In John 6, it is already proven that God is a God of possibilities. The test/s given by God in our life is just so little to what He can do or actually what He did for us.Tithes and OfferingAlso from John 6, another disciple stood up. Andrew the brother of Simon Peter had doubts on the situation. It was already smooth when he said "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish". But he added a big BUT with a single 'T', "but how far will they go among so many?" Okay na eh pero palagi nalang may sabit. Have you ever experienced assessing yourself before really falling to sleep, looking back at what happened through your day and if you have made the right response to a situation? Sometimes, it seems okay or pwede na pero may nasabi ka palang mali. Nag advice ka na nga lang, naka-offend ka pa. The same goes for giving our tithes and offering to God. We know that we were able to give what we can to bless the ministry, but (ayan na naman si but na yan) we cannot avoid thinking that what we gave could be used for something more beneficial to us. With the many blessings our God keeps on giving us, this is the time that we focus on the blesser. Remember that blessings wouldnt be around if not for the blesser.Sis. Jemimah Tiburcio
