On Tuesday 17th July 2018 we welcomed 2 special Guests, being Ian Ada our Rotary District 9800 Assistant Governor and also
we inducted our newest member Daniel Gangemi.
Daniel Gangemi – Welcome our newest member
So far we know Daniel, is Creative Director and Head of Digital Marketing at Delovo Group, a Kaplan Professional, and has
previous worked in both in Sales and Marketing in Banking and CUB.
He is also a keen community volunteer being involved with Starlight Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation and Movember.
He joined Rotary to use my knowledge of Marketing and passion to drive local community awareness of the Essendon Rotary
and assist in the wellbeing of people and families abroad.
We look forward to getting to know Daniel, he will challenges Tim’s sock choices !
Ian Ada our Rotary District 9800 Assistant Governor
Ian is a retired Agriculture Scientists originally from Kilmore area, he now lives in Melbourne and is a Member of the Rotary
Club of Carlton.
Ian spoke to us passionately about what makes Rotary so special and inspirational to him personally, in that anyone who has a
good idea that has the potential for change; can get a critical mass of people interested and make their idea happen through
Rotary.
Ian’s Rotary moment, was a “World of Difference” tour to Cambodia villages in 2012 who were experiencing crop failures and
starvation, water contamination and they had no local schools. Rotary through 8 Clubs and Rotary Global Grants has over the
last 6 years has undertaken many major infrastructure project in the area to improve people’s lives. For more information

District Conference
Save the Date for next year’s Multi District Conference which will be in Melbourne from the 15th to 17th of February 2019. Could
Members who are interested in hosting Rotarians from out of town at their home, please let Kelly know.

Our Rotary District 9800 is now using Club Runner as their website and can be found at https://rotarydistrict9800.org.au.
Rotarians can log into the Member Area for further information and resources, using the same Log In details of user name and
password as the Rotary Club of Essendon Club Runner website. If you have forgotten your details please contact Kelly to have
them re set.

Please be aware that with both the Rotary Club of Essendon and Rotary District 9800 websites and smart phone apps, that as a
Rotarian your personal details are available to other Rotarians, who have log in details, information is not available to the
general public.
This information is intended for use for Rotary purposes only and we ask that you respect others privacy by not sharing their
personal information.
If you do not wish for your personal information to be available for other Rotarians to view, you can log into your member
profile at https://www.rce.org.au and change accordingly, however please note that this is the main data base for all club data.

On Thursday next week – 26th July, we will be getting a delivery of 500 school desks and 500 chairs. We are also scheduled to load a container to Vanuatu and prepare for a Timor unit the following Tuesday. We need some arms and legs to give the regular volunteers some help. Half of the desks and chairs will go directly into a container for Tanzania but the balance will have to go into the store – somewhere!. Please ask your members for some help on either the 26th July or/and 31st July. Caroline Chisholm – Good work done by Rotarians

meeting and the 3rd Tuesday of each month a lunch meeting
