Presidents State of the Union Speech to Draw State

    Lawmakers, Conservative Activists to Parsippany!

February 12 State of the Union Town Hall Event Aims to Promote Message of

    Economic Freedom

PARSIPPANY, NJ As President Obama delivers his fourth State of the Union address next Tuesday evening,

free-market activists from across the state will convene in Parsippany to view the speech and promote the cause of

    economic freedom.

The free town hall event will feature several area lawmakers including Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll

(R-25, Morris, Somerset), Senator Mike Doherty (R-23, Hunterdon, Somerset, Warren) and Senator Joe

Pennacchio (R-26, Essex, Morris, Passaic). The three members of the Legislature will participate in a special

panel discussion focusing on the relationship of federalism to state policy and taking on the question of whether

the GOP is abetting the Obama economic agenda. All members of the legislature from the area were invitedto this non-partisan educational event.

AFP Foundation State Policy Manager, Nicole Kaeding, will lead an economic policy panel discussion

centering on fiscal and budgetary policy,

including previewing the upcomingnegotiations on the federal budget,

sequestration spending cuts and the debt ceiling.

While the president will no doubt use his address

double down on his calls for more big-governmentintrusions, AFP Foundation will take the

opportunity to educate citizens that road to prosperity begins with embracing the principles of economic freedom:

lower taxes, less regulation, respect for property rights and the rule of law, said Steve Lonegan, AFP

    Foundations state director.

AFP Foundation is also pleased to have Assemblyman Carroll and Senators Doherty and Pennacchio on hand tospeak to citizens about how the long arm of the federal government handcuffs state lawmakers and results in bad

    public policy, added Lonegan.

The State of the Union Town Hall will take place at the Sheraton Parsippany, 199 Smith Road, on the evening of

Tuesday, February 12 starting at 7:00 p.m. Media are invited to attend. For more information, click here or
