    PRESS RELEASE

TiO2 Pigment Annual Review 2014 - Leading independent global report

3 July 2014 TZ Minerals International (TZMI) is pleased to announce the release of the fifth editionof the TiO2 Pigment Annual Review which is dedicated to the multi-billion global titanium dioxidepigment market, which has experienced varying dynamics since the first edition was published by

    TZMI.

This year, TZMI has undertaken extensive updates to its database for all of the sectors in thetitanium value chain. This has been supplemented by a number of in depth research projects

undertaken in China further bolstering TZMIs expertise in these sectors.

The TiO2 Pigment Annual Review provides a detailed overview of the TiO 2 pigment industryin 2013 and an outlook that is suitable for current participants and those without priorexposure to the sector. The information contained in TiO2 Pigment Annual Review 2014 is carefullyresearched drawing on TZMIs extensive database. It is also an essential reference for the industrywhile identifying key trends and developments within the sector and the broader impact on a global

    scale.

There have been a number of significant announcements and events in regards to the top global TiO 2 pigment producers and TZMI provides the context and analysis as to what this may mean for theindustry going forward.

TiO2 pigment is used predominantly in the production of high-quality surface finishes to impart

opacity, brightness, and whiteness. TiO 2s main attribute is to improve the aesthetic appearance ofthe product and, as such, TiO 2 is considered to be a quality of life product and consumption generallyincreases as disposable income increases.

In 2013, seven global producers made up more than 57% of the global nameplate capacity: DuPont,Cristal, Tronox, Huntsman, Kronos, Sachtleben and Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha (ISK). DuPont and Tronox

operate only chloride route plants, the other global producers operate plants that use both sulfateand chloride route technologies. China continues to increase TiO 2 capacity and its influence on theindustry.

The principal product of the mineral sands industry is titanium raw minerals used as feedstock forthe production of primarily, (TiO 2) pigment and, to a lesser extent, titanium metal. Of the TiO 2 feedstock mined and processed, more than 90% is used in the chloride and sulfate methods of TiO 2 pigment production.

TZMI also produces other publications that address the TiO 2 pigment industry including: Global TiO2Pigment Producers Cost & Profitability Study ; TiO2 Pigment Industry Report , a monthly data report

with some trade commentary; and TiO2 Pigment Price Forecast , which is published quarterly.
