Press release

Konica Minolta earns three BERTL’s BEST awards for its bizhub production printers

Langenhagen, Germany, July 2011

Konica Minolta bizhub’s PRESS C8000 and C7000 and the bizhub PRO 1200 won BERTL’s annual BEST awards in their respective category: Best Colour Production System, Best Colour Light Production System and Best Monochrome Production System.

“This is the second time we have won BERTL awards this year,” says Ines Schmidt, Product Manager Production Printing Group, at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. Her colleague Karl-Friedrich Edenhuizen, also Product Manager Production Printing Group, adds “We are very proud of receiving this accolade, especially because not one, but three of our production printers won the award.”

All three production systems were recognised for their outstanding maximum paper capacity that provides optimal long run capabilities with minimal operator assistance. Konica Minolta’s flagship model, the bizhub PRESS C8000, already won BERTL’s Exceptional Certified Five Star award in March 2011. Now it has been recognised as Best Colour Production System. BERTL praised its versatility in using different controllers from Konica Minolta, Fiery and Creo. Also mentioned were the high colour output capacity of 80 pages per minute and S.E.A.D. II, Konica Minolta’s proprietary image processing technology. An Image Density Control (IDC) sensor offers real time density adjustments and provides colour density control.

The bizhub PRESS C7000 won its award for being the Best Light Colour Production System. BERTL singled out its fast warm-up time of 6.5 minutes, its maximum monthly duty cycle of 330,000 pages and its flexibility in using the above-mentioned controllers. What makes the C7000 a winner is further its new hybrid decurling mechanism to condition heavy and challenging paper stock and to ensure smooth-

running throughput. Furthermore, front edge and skew sensors monitor paper position and alignment shifts during printing. As with the C8000, an IDC sensor offers real time density adjustments.

BERTL’s Best Monochrome Production System, the bizhub PRO 1200 prints on paper as large as 324 x 463 mm, stocks paper up to 350 gsm and features automatic duplexing with paper weights up to 244 gsm. It offers an output of 120 pages per minute and over 40 different configuration preferences and a wealth of finishing options. The air suction belt-feeding mechanism provides consistent paper feeding.
