Konica Minolta receives Fogra certification for its bizhub PRESS C7000 and C8000 printers

Langenhagen, Germany, June 2011

Konica Minolta’s bizhub PRESS C7000 and bizhub PRESS C8000 digital printing systems have been granted a FograCert Validation Printing System (VPS) certificate. The certificate was issued for each printer’s performance in combination with the latest Konica Minolta Color Care software and for both systems using either the Fiery IC-306 or the CREO IC-307 controller.

“Fogra has certified us once again for our integrated solutions in digital printing,” says Karl-Friedrich Edenhuizen, Product Manager Production Printing Group at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “The bizhub PRESS C7000 and C8000 meet the highest industry standards. Using the Fiery IC-306 and CREO IC-307 controllers and our own Color Care Version 2 package, they offer near to offset quality and performance with the flexibility of a digital printing system.”

Fogra VPS certification is based on ISO 12647-8 and defines the colours and appearance to which validation prints must conform, such as proofing substrate colour and gloss, colour accuracy and conformance to the PDF/X standard. The bizhub PRESS C7000 and C8000 colour production printing systems are now certified when running with the optional Fiery IC-306 and CREO IC-307 controllers.

Next to the controllers, the Konica Minolta Color Care package is the second component that led the way to gaining Fogra certification. The software ensures a certain level of colour quality for any Konica Minolta colour device that it covers. Also included is a professional service offering to ensure that within the scope of the system near to contract proofing requirements are satisfied.
