What is Prezi?

What is Prezi?
Prezi is a tool that we can use to create
presentations. Unlike Power Point
presentations, Prezi presentations are not
linear (it means, we are not going slide by
slide) but we work on a single slide or table
and we move through it using zooms.
Sign up
To get started
we have to sign
up on the web:
www.prezi.co
m
To display the page in English, go to the
bottom of the screen and select the
language.

After clicking the button "Sign up" we have to
select the
license.
I will choose
the free
license
Click there
Fill in all the fields.
If you want you can sign up with your Facebook account.
Check the box and
click the button.

Now that we have completed the registration,
we can start creating our first presentation.

Create a new Prezi
Next, we will see this window:
Fill in the fields
that you want (no
field is required) and click the button.
Create a new Prezi
We will see a new window with some
Templates, select one.
Blank
template,
do it your
way!
Select one and click here.

Options
I have I have chosen the blank template, in the
following slides we will show the most basic use
of this tool.
Remember that this isn't Power Point, here all the
information is showed in a single "slide", and
later we will choose the way that it should be
displayed.
Read on, and see how it's much easier than it
seems.

you move the mouse cursor over the
buttons, you will see an informative
dialog box, showing you the useful of
each button.
That yellow label is an informative
dialog box.

Preview of our creation
To get started in Prezi we have to create elements
that will contain the information. First we must choose
what type of element it will be:
Text
Image
YouTube video
Items
If you click over the giant
“+” in the middle of the
screen, you will see the
next:

Place here your text Accept
Text inside a circle
Insert a YouTube video
Text inside a square
Insert image
Delete
Customize
Choose the item that you want, in my case "text inside
a circle", and click the "Accept" button. You will see the
next:
Can you see the small “1”?
It means that this will be the
first item to be displayed in
our presentation. Later I will
explain more about this
topic.

Do double-click
inside the circle to
add text.
You will see the
following options...
Si quieres mover el texto, selecciona una línea y aparecerá una manita que te permitirá moverlo.

If you want to move the text, choose a line and a hand will appear on the left of it. You can use the hand to
move the text.
When you have finished, click here.
If you click the “+ add” button you can add another item that you can
customize exactly same that the first item. Remember when we have
pressed the giant “+”!

Create a second item…
The new item has a “2”, it will be the item that will appear in the second position. Have
in mind that you can change the order :)

You will se the main
screen of your
Prezi. If you click
the “play” button
you can see your
first presentation!
